    1 lag in popular areas

2 being unable to progress with playing just time

3 petitions take a month for a response - customer service blows

4 loss is too extreme for big ship pilots encouraging groups of people to swarm in little ships that cost nothing

5 gate travel is slow as hell in big ships

    my peeves are

    1) the combat system is boring combat would be great with a freelancer type system instead of the lock & load we have now..

    2) no interaction with the npc part of the eve world would like to see a SWG type of system in the eve universe that would rock

    3) should be able to warp to 5 k of any object in eve roid belts other players whatever the 15 k is lame & lazy programing.

    4) no gate camping just is lazy game-play

    5) this is my biggest ( Ijust dont get it bitch ) pirates if you have a bounty on your azz I should be able to hunt your azz down  & take you out any were no protection in high sec space. eve tries to emulate real world economists & politics why should a pirate be immune to repercussions for his actions ..if you got a bounty then you open game ..this would add a real world feal to eve & increase pvp opportunities

1 - EVE isn't a twitch game.  You should consider Space Cowboy or Jumpgate if that's what you're after.  Eve is about prior planning, coordination and tactics, not who can keep their mouse over a moving target.

2 - Not quite sure what you mean, can you explain?  I'm not real familiar with SWG, but I surprised anyone would want to replicate it.

3 - The 15km distance isn't lazy programing - it's a game design that supports PVP.  If you dropped within 5k of any target, your deceleration on larger ships would drop you within jump range of gates and a lot closer to dock range - preventing a lot of PvP.

4 - Gate camping is boring and rarely leads to a fun evening, but it's the only way to secure space.  Low sec gate camping is very risking, and it's easy to drive them off if you know what you're doing.

5 - Below -5.0 sec status and they are gankable anywhere in EVE.  Below -2.0 they cannot enter some high sec systems.  The lower the sec status, the less they can enter without the local NPC Navy hunting them.  If someone dropped below -2.0 and received a bounty, then worked their sec status back up, they're not a pirate anymore.  If you want to kill them, you're free to, but then you're the pirate.  Bounties are set by players, not by their actions.

    ----

My biggest peeve?  Paying out insurance on ships lost in empire due to hostile action.  If you pirate in high sec (hauler ganking), you should forfeit your insurance.  CONCORD shouldn't be subsidising pirates.  Low sec is fine, but hauling in a 1.0 should be safe.  I've never lost a ship to these tactics, just think it's lame.

Eve isant a twitch based game its a point and double click game. Netherless there is a lot going for the combat  tho its too much for me to go in here.
    2) no interaction with the npc part of the eve world would like to see a SWG type of system in the eve universe that would rock
Err considering i like many eve players ahve no idea what you mean here i cant really comment here exept to say this game is MMORPG not a single player game so the npc intereaction is ok unless you have some insight you havent mentioned.
    3) should be able to warp to 5 k of any object in eve roid belts other players whatever the 15 k is lame & lazy programing.
In eve you used to be able to warp at 0km to target, now it is 15 km for 2 reasons i can remember. 1 It increases travel times which was needed and still is now that instas are so popular. 2 It made gate piracy possable for newbies and more experienced people and no matter what you think this is a PvP game and overall most people prefer this way to the old now we just need to fix bookmarks.
    4) no gate camping just is lazy game-play
No its not first of all gate camps are easy to avoid just use the map and avoid that system, if you cant just fly through it i do this reguly with 80% success. Or just organise your corp assuming you are in one to clear that gate.
So if say for example we both mined in the same system and all i had to do to get rid of my competition was to apply a 1k bounty on your head then go and gank you with no concord protection what do you think would happen. Also dont forget not everyone with a bounty is a pirate for example a war involves killing so that could involve spitefully placing bountys on a war enemy hmmm.

Lol just got this E- mail from RAF-DooD:

Regardless about what I have or haven't played in the past I couldn't care less what your opinion is in that regard however you couldn't be more wrong which isn't surprising. I would hazard a guess and say that I have probably played Eve longer than you've had a pair and kindly try working from facts rather than your attempted flame, now go tell your parents that you've been on the computer long enough for one day and get back to your studies.

I guess he didnt want everyone to see this weak flame of his. As for the time ive played eve i remember the days when cruisers were the same cost as batteleships are now [becaues they had just been released and battleships didnt exist then]. I also remember the jump in points and how bad they were and why we now arrive at gates now.

I took part in the Criellen incident and got killes in 2 minuites.

So yea ive been in eve longer than him, As for the rest of this id say my post hit a nerve.

Alts? having alts on the same account is a terrible idea... you cant level skills on 2 chars on the same account at the same time... that kinda eliminates the need for alts... unless u have a 2nd account.... and unless they changed it?

I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

Alt scouts...no need to risk your main, send a alt in a newbie ship or shuttle to check it out...no need for skill training or that.

well there a lot of peeps flying about in empire space pirating concord haulers & transporters & even more flying about in frigs popping miners esp barge miners for the strip/ice miners which they have a mate scoop up and resell ...its kinda hard to always be able to track them down & half the time they are alts from some ganker corp just looking for a way to start some shit ...

on the swg thing what I was thinking was being able to land on a planet get out of your ship go missions that are land based ..same with space stations ..swg suckx as a game but it was just the being able to do both space & land missions or exploring .

eve may not be a twitch game but I find the combat boring ..freelancer was anything but boring during combat ..and you really needed skills in that game ...different type than eve but I found it more challenging..

Personally, I think that if they ban you, that's all you really need to know.

Me, personally, I can't stand the lag the pours down on the servers/nodes on the weekends.

We can agree to disagree, or we can bicker constantly... either way, I'm right.

That's the first thing I thought when I saw a planet - man, wouldn't it be cool if I could land on the planet and explore or setup harvesters [ala SWG].

Yeah - the combat seems a little too automated for my tastes.  Unless I missed something - you basically fly to the target [I usually select the option to orbit and keep within 5km], select lock, click on the gun icon[s] to activate them, click on shield, then sit back and watch the combat...

I think EVE could benefit from a few of the JTL/SWG features of space combat/travel - twitched based fighting/controls [WASD / Mouselook], NPC dialog whenever you are within range of a space station, etc.

The only pet peeve I have about EvE so far [after playing for a week] - space travel between systems.  If I buy a part and it requires 10 jumps, I might as well go watch a movie... .  This tells me EvE is a game which requires a lot of patience and/or time depending upon what you want to do.

Plantes are coming but they are still a bit out there, looking 9 months+.

Twitch based combat is bad because, well I can lag hack about any twitched based game to benfit me. Generally the game gets into the if you can't get 100ms or less latency then don't even attempt PVP mentality that most FPS games end up with. Even why I dueled and stuff in WoW and CoH any issues with desync can cause massive  problems with game play. Sadly network technology is just not set up to handle massive 3D controls yet. Though more options then  Orbit would be nice like a cloverleaf flight plan. Combat starts getting more interesting in small group combat and PVP where you have to balance alot of things from your Cap resources to ECM,tank,Damage and multiple other things.

I would like to see NPC traffic in a few of the less heavily populated areas.

Well for the travel time I can at least help you out on that.
1- is the simple thing of looking at the details when you need to buy something. you may be saying 1 isk buying something 10 jumps away when another is on sale for just 1 isk more in system. That said also try and plan your shopping trips. Don't go 10 jumps for one item, get a few items to make it worth while.
2-Fit for speed. there are several modules that will make your ship faster, Afterburners, Microwarp drives, Nanofiber internals, and Overdrives. All these can speed up your travel though the first 2 require you to activate them.
3- The much hated Bookmarks, These nifty little things that you can make by going through your people and places window allows you to setup a point 15km past a object so when you warp to the BM, it drops you on top of the object. a set of these properly labeled and setup can speed travel along commonly used routes.

That all said I think they need some more middle ground ships between Battleships and capital ships as this gap is just too damn huge at the moment.

That and a better Ore distribution system so you don't have mining a belt clear of only one ore type.

I hate some more things but alot of the stuff I don't like may be getting fixed in the kali expansions so I'll be watching on that.

Well this seems to be a common misconception concerning the combat system in eve. Let me put it to you this way against an experienced player doing what yuo just described will get you killed. You see there are other elements to combat than just your guns and the distance you orbit. There is your velocity [faster = better], Your transversal angle [the wider the angle the better] and your signiture radius.

    Velocity

First of all this one is easy to explain the faster you are the harder to hit you are.

    Transversal angle

Flying straight at someone is a bad idea overall because then his turrets dont need to move around much to aim at you. What you need to do is fly at an angle to him so that you are forcing his turrets to rotate to hit you. Basicallly this means the ideal way to aproach someone for a close orbit is to make a Zig Zag motion. This is especially effective if you are small and fast and his guns are big.

    Signiture radius

basicully this represents your size and the size of the radar footprint you leave. Basically the smaller your signiture radius is the harder to hit you are.

In the bit where you say you are a week old well i have to say a week old is not long enough to know anything about eve so im not suprised you are having problems. Especially if you are trying to PvP within a week of starting eve. And as for the travel times well there are many ways to shorten it, most of which needs some skills in navigation to do.

Not trying to pvp - and yeah, I understand combat in the game.  It's still a bit too automated for my tastes - I'd rather have more control over my ship.

    1. "Open ended" -- means there is no depth. Plays like Elite with players
    2. Ships are ugly
    3. Missions are stupid. "kill things for us and we'll give you fertilizer"
    4. Combat requires no skill. point click and watch your ugly ship fire at little red plus signs.
    5. Mining. Push button wait for message your cargo is full. repeat.
    6. Trading. Lag is so bad it becomes really boring, really fast.
    7. Skills. Everything has a skill, and every skill is unique. Want better shields? Learn how to install them...heaven forbid in the future you can hire a mechanic to do it.
    8. PVP. Either you are blown to bits or you are invincible, never seems to be a middle ground.

    Gate Campers, macro miners

    the lack of 3d person

    I think that's it

Instas for sure.  Cure?  Have warp disrupters before every gate for 15km stop.  Then have 2 skills, normal and advanced (Warp Trajectory Skill and Advanced Warp Trajectory Skill) and each level you get you can warp 1KM closer to objects when warping to them.  So if you max out both skills you can (at MOST) warp 5km away from the gate.

    Macro Miners.

    Actually that's about it.

I've not played long but I think being able to leave your ship and acually move with your legs on solid ground/metal/alloy would be a nice addition.

It would give some use to avatar cusomization other than chat.

Not saying it should be a fps but some parts involved would make it a bit more diverse. ( but then you would have to learn the skill to fire a hand gun)

thats a great idea ..love it when somebody comes up with killer ideas ....& I still think that land/station based missions would take eve into the mainstream mmo market .

I just personally loved the combat system in freelancer

and all pirats should be gankable at first sight ......no mater were they fly ..not talking about concord  if you got a skull icon on your ship then its open season on your azz...

Pet peeve = low life scum that use log off tactics, I drown a kitten everytime someone logs on/off before/during combat.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"
