IIRL, everyone is comparing a game with another. I do the same and at least i stay on the same type and not AL vs. WoW or something. And you sure know its just shiny plastic.... I'm DLing AL from fileplanet atm but if its even remotely good I'm hoping to play it until I get accepted into on of the different beta that are starting this fall. I hope this stays in open beta for atleast a month or so, until the 9Dragons open beta starts.

I wouldn't even have wasted my time talking to him. I hear all these comments about korean MMO's sucking. Like investing 5 mins in one korean MMO. Gives them enough insight to know how every other game is. Talk alot of ****, but won't touch some of the more original ones like, Granado Espada. Well, if it is your type of game be happy - its totally not mine so you have to accept my opinion like i do yours of course. The goal to be Archlord is for me so uninteresting, since only one or even only a handfull of several houndreds player can be the archlord. Sorry, but its not goal for me to be a super hero rather more to have some stratgical goals, faction goals or changes of the ownership of areas with less grind and time consument. I do have a life and need to work almost every day to pay the flat, so forget the archlord arguement. Since the game is free in Asia and has an integrated shop-system, i wont pay a monthly fee, the box and more investment for the item shop, thats just a marketing system i dont support (but thats a different story) Iam also no fan of lineage 2 since i do not like the pvp system in there. My games are more like DAOC, Shadowbane, Planetside etc. I did level up 4 different chars to lvl 11 in AL, yeah sorry to say but it isnt my thing. If you like it, go ahead np. The only thing is, that you will find many people with similar arguements in the AL forums, so its not just the opinion of a single guy like me. Probably i just need more content variation and a different pvp system like you guys, but thats ok - enjoy the game.

1. He said character stat .. not customization ... he has a point.
2. The PvP I experienced in this game is brainless and unwanted (no purpose).
3. There's only 1 type of skills for each class which are unique ... LoL!
4. You can't pot spamm ? Try to wack a mage who keeps spamming his pots + regen spell?!
5. First Archlord will be a hacker/cheater anyway no doubt.
6. All Quests are nearly the same + the reward you get wasn't worth the effort running doing them ( yes too much running its boring. )
7. Who talks about having an easy or hard grind? He says it's a grind and it is a total grindfest. Gameplay equals skill ( see Darkfall ) not gamelength.
So far I think the game is a typical Korean point-and-click MMO. Yes, the devs have worked everything out way better then most free games out there, but I'm still missing a bit of originality and mostly freedom of movement (WSAD ftw). The story isn't cutting it either, it's mostly bad-translated Korean gibberish, and I can't speak highly of the quest rewards either..
The high lvl PvP stuff seems fun so far.. but I think I'll get bored waaay before I reach a lvl high enough to compete. And the PvP does seem a little pointless at lower lvls, it's simply to easy and way to tempting for the average ganker to kill his share of lowbies.

I got in through FilePlanet. I played for maybe a week and gave a try to all three races and um all three classes. It barely hooked me at all. And eventually I got really sick of it and stopped playing. It was hard for me to get into it. Plus it just didn't work really well with my computer.
I started playin yesterday, and honestly it's not that bad of a game...
Few higher lvl PKers, and a whole lot of people complaining about that part... But ya know, Archlord is a PVP based game, Expect to get ganked, don't cry when you do...
Whole lotta people asking about price upon retail per month, and complaining about the fact that it is Pay to Play...
Seriously, if you don't want to p2p, go play guild wars... Now that rants overwith, I think I'll be playing this game come retail...

Ive recently made it to level 28 with my Moonelf ranger, i also have a level 20 Orc Sorc. I stand by what i said. And yeah, i have been playing MMOs long enough to use 3 hours to decide whether or not the game is worth playing in my own eyes. I takes me about 2 weeks to toally break it down and strip it to its elements of why its a bad game.
After level 20, i got so bored i could barely manage to care about leveling, But i got some interesting bow and wanted to see how it looked at level 30, but couldnt will my self to play anymore, I dont even wanna log in anymore, the game is fairly boring. ALl that takes place on AL when i play is mindless grinding and long debates about what is wrong with the game, and why WoW is better or worst then it. And in between the client crashing and going back and forth to town simply to buy more potions, i run around the noob town killing pkers who bother other low levels.
More customization then lineage? Lineage 2 didnt have much character customization but neither does archlord, changing the color of armor is not customization, having normal armor blue, and unique armor yellow and rare armor red is not diversity if all teh armor loooks the same. Thats like giving one guya blue tshirt and you put on a white one, are you guys hitting some deep clothing customization? No, your just wearing the same outfit witha different color. The same goes for beautition, THe hairsyles just add the same styles, with 1 or 2 new ones, and different shades, then faces. But its hard to feel very different when theres only 3 freaking classes. I cant even compare this game to lineage, at least lineage got me to play for 2 years.

Well thats your opinion. I like it and im still not bored at 35. But i dont take the grind serious cuz its just beta. Figuring out skilling on retail and looking into higher content. Besides that i have a nice guild for retail and it will be lotsa fun.
But some peoples cant get over it and ranting/flaming whenever they can. If you dont like and you feel the urge to explain it to the world (no one really cares tho), then do so but in a polite way. Move to another game or go back to your fav. game and stop flaming on peoples who actually enjoy this game. And i mean this in general. There are some trolls around here which have found a new home it seems. Maybe we will see the 4th account from ChuckNorris soon.
Wow that game is like a paying Knight Online. I knew about this game since before September 2005, I knew the game sucked. I just thought Codemaster might have worked on it a little bit to be good, but it just doesn't look like they did anything to it besides translating it in english.

From an outside point of view, just browsing through this thread, you really need to stop being hypocritical. You're calling people who disagree with your own opinion by disliking the game trolls. That's trolling in and of itself. I don't recall the title of this thread being "ArchLord Lover's Home". Everyone's entitled to their opinions, just as you so value your own.
That said, I remember almost exactly this time last year around when the Philippines RFO beta was about to begin. When I started playing it, I enjoyed it quite a bit as I'd just come off WoW, and I guess it caught me on the rebound. Point is, I handled it much the same way you're enjoying yourself now with AL. I played it as if it didn't matter, because for me it was just training for when the NA release by CodeMasters was going to come out (they were banning non-PH IPs anyway). However, take it from a former CodeMasters customer - they're a terrible MMO company. Their MMO experience thus far is with translating Korean grind MMOs, and without ever even trying this game I know what to expect between the potion spamming (identical to RFO), small class selection, and little to no customization with a heavy grind and meaningless quests. CodeMasters was terrible with their support of RFO, and while in the past couple of months they've begun to improve things, they're far too little too late. They've had to resort to combining servers (which server pops weren't much a problem at release), and many other tactics such as bumping EXP, PT, and drop rates just to keep folks playing.
Personally, having run through the PH beta, open beta, and then release up to CM's NA/EU release of RFO, I practically knew everything there was to know about RFO. I executed my plans and put my knowledge to use, and within the first couple months had taken race lead of Accretia on the most populated server. Talk about a game-breaker. Being at the top of a PVP game made things horrifyingly boring beyond that point as there was little to strive for anymore. Nevermind that I was bored to tears anyway by the terrible grind (I can't imagine anything worse than RFO's PT system for grinding). Hell, I'd spend hours at a time killing myself to lose exp and stay at a lower level to PT more effeciently.
If you truly enjoy the game right now, enjoy it while you can, but don't expect it to last beyond a couple months. ArchLord itself looks rather borish, and while that's not entirely damning by itself, the fact that CodeMasters run it is. Add to that the fact that AL will boil down to being a "richest player wins" type of game with PayPlus, and that's a game I wouldn't touch with a 10' (or 10 meters, since you're German ) pole. As another note, having a great guild will keep you in the game a bit longer, but even with the guild I was in, which was filled with great folks, I just stopped being able to log in at all. I'd think "back to work" before logging in, rather than just getting on to have a good time. That's all these games seem to offer is work, rather than play, and no game should come to that.

Archlord would be good if itcame out the same time as lineage 2, but it stands zero chance comming out now, when games like Hero's Journey, and Age of Conan are right over the horizon.

Actually, I just did. maybe you should read a little more carefully. 60 is not required, although it is recommend if you want to get the full Archlord experience. lvl 50~60 should do.

If the games engine is sso shitty, that you cant look diverse and unique wihile kicking ass on a battlefield with 300 other people, that means you need to dog the game not the people against the game. Archlord would be good if itcame out the same time as lineage 2, but it stands zero chance comming out now, when games like Hero's Journey, and Age of Conan are right over the horizon.

also, Unless you want to play with 2D graphics like Ultima, Its a PC problem. Login SWG or Everquest 2 and go collect 300 people that all look diffrent, put them in one area and let them pvp.

IIRL, everyone is comparing a game with another. I do the same and at least i stay on the same type and not AL vs. WoW or something.

I wouldn't even have wasted my time talking to him. I hear all these comments about korean MMO's sucking. Like investing 5 mins in one korean MMO. Gives them enough insight to know how every other game is. Talk alot of ****, but won't touch some of the more original ones like, Granado Espada. Yet are quick to jump on the bandwagon of each and every US released MMO. Like those are any less grind intensive. All fantasy, but yet none of them clones right? lol
Well, if it is your type of game be happy - its totally not mine so you have to accept my opinion like i do yours of course. The goal to be Archlord is for me so uninteresting, since only one or even only a handfull of several houndreds player can be the archlord. Sorry, but its not goal for me to be a super hero rather more to have some stratgical goals, faction goals or changes of the ownership of areas with less grind and time consument. I do have a life and need to work almost every day to pay the flat, so forget the archlord arguement. Since the game is free in Asia and has an integrated shop-system, i wont pay a monthly fee, the box and more investment for the item shop, thats just a marketing system i dont support (but thats a different story) Iam also no fan of lineage 2 since i do not like the pvp system in there. My games are more like DAOC, Shadowbane, Planetside etc. I did level up 4 different chars to lvl 11 in AL, yeah sorry to say but it isnt my thing. If you like it, go ahead np. The only thing is, that you will find many people with similar arguements in the AL forums, so its not just the opinion of a single guy like me. Probably i just need more content variation and a different pvp system like you guys, but thats ok - enjoy the game.

2. The PvP I experienced in this game is brainless and unwanted (no purpose).
3. There's only 1 type of skills for each class which are unique ... LoL!
4. You can't pot spamm ? Try to wack a mage who keeps spamming his pots + regen spell?!
5. First Archlord will be a hacker/cheater anyway no doubt.
6. All Quests are nearly the same + the reward you get wasn't worth the effort running doing them ( yes too much running its boring. )
7. Who talks about having an easy or hard grind? He says it's a grind and it is a total grindfest. Gameplay equals skill ( see Darkfall ) not gamelength.

So far I think the game is a typical Korean point-and-click MMO. Yes, the devs have worked everything out way better then most free games out there, but I'm still missing a bit of originality and mostly freedom of movement (WSAD ftw). The story isn't cutting it either, it's mostly bad-translated Korean gibberish, and I can't speak highly of the quest rewards either..
The high lvl PvP stuff seems fun so far.. but I think I'll get bored waaay before I reach a lvl high enough to compete. And the PvP does seem a little pointless at lower lvls, it's simply to easy and way to tempting for the average ganker to kill his share of lowbies.

Well I'm downloading this now... a lot of bad reviews here but wth I'll give it a shot. The premise of the game does seem very intruiging though.
I got in through FilePlanet. I played for maybe a week and gave a try to all three races and um all three classes. It barely hooked me at all. And eventually I got really sick of it and stopped playing. It was hard for me to get into it. Plus it just didn't work really well with my computer.
I started playin yesterday, and honestly it's not that bad of a game...
Few higher lvl PKers, and a whole lot of people complaining about that part... But ya know, Archlord is a PVP based game, Expect to get ganked, don't cry when you do...

Ive recently made it to level 28 with my Moonelf ranger, i also have a level 20 Orc Sorc. I stand by what i said. And yeah, i have been playing MMOs long enough to use 3 hours to decide whether or not the game is worth playing in my own eyes. I takes me about 2 weeks to toally break it down and strip it to its elements of why its a bad game.
After level 20, i got so bored i could barely manage to care about leveling, But i got some interesting bow and wanted to see how it looked at level 30, but couldnt will my self to play anymore, I dont even wanna log in anymore, the game is fairly boring. ALl that takes place on AL when i play is mindless grinding and long debates about what is wrong with the game, and why WoW is better or worst then it. And in between the client crashing and going back and forth to town simply to buy more potions, i run around the noob town killing pkers who bother other low levels.
More customization then lineage? Lineage 2 didnt have much character customization but neither does archlord, changing the color of armor is not customization, having normal armor blue, and unique armor yellow and rare armor red is not diversity if all teh armor loooks the same. Thats like giving one guya blue tshirt and you put on a white one, are you guys hitting some deep clothing customization? No, your just wearing the same outfit witha different color. The same goes for beautition, THe hairsyles just add the same styles, with 1 or 2 new ones, and different shades, then faces. But its hard to feel very different when theres only 3 freaking classes. I cant even compare this game to lineage, at least lineage got me to play for 2 years.

Well thats your opinion. I like it and im still not bored at 35. But i dont take the grind serious cuz its just beta. Figuring out skilling on retail and looking into higher content.
Besides that i have a nice guild for retail and it will be lotsa fun.
But some peoples cant get over it and ranting/flaming whenever they can. If you dont like and you feel the urge to explain it to the world (no one really cares tho), then do so but in a polite way. Move to another game or go back to your fav. game and stop flaming on peoples who actually enjoy this game. And i mean this in general. There are some trolls around here which have found a new home it seems.

That said, I remember almost exactly this time last year around when the Philippines RFO beta was about to begin. When I started playing it, I enjoyed it quite a bit as I'd just come off WoW, and I guess it caught me on the rebound.
Personally, having run through the PH beta, open beta, and then release up to CM's NA/EU release of RFO, I practically knew everything there was to know about RFO. I executed my plans and put my knowledge to use, and within the first couple months had taken race lead of Accretia on the most populated server. Talk about a game-breaker. Being at the top of a PVP game made things horrifyingly boring beyond that point as there was little to strive for anymore. Nevermind that I was bored to tears anyway by the terrible grind (I can't imagine anything worse than RFO's PT system for grinding). Hell, I'd spend hours at a time killing myself to lose exp and stay at a lower level to PT more effeciently.
If you truly enjoy the game right now, enjoy it while you can, but
don't expect it to last beyond a couple months. ArchLord itself looks
rather borish, and while that's not entirely damning by itself, the

Archlord would be good if itcame out the same time as lineage 2, but it stands zero chance comming out now, when games like Hero's Journey, and Age of Conan are right over the horizon.

also, Unless you want to play with 2D graphics like Ultima, Its a PC problem. Login SWG or Everquest 2 and go collect 300 people that all look diffrent, put them in one area and let them pvp.
