Some people might flame me for this, others may agree but those who have played this game to the fullest will know its a waste of time and theres no real gain in the end anyhow.

Now you first think, oh wow free mmorpg!  The toons look cute so I guess ill try it.  10 Hours later your a level 15, and you find out that there are over 100 levels while each level you gain makes the next one super longer.  Now you reach level 50 like I did with my Bandit.  Just to get to level 51 it takes nearly the whole day to grind it.

Some people will say that grinding is part of mmorpgs, and I agree.  Now mmorpg are games you play with other people, good luck finding a party that makes it worth the time spent.  You clearly get nothing from leveling with people, its just better to solo since the grind is so long.  Now once you hit 3rd class, and the max possible level if you even get the far oh and by the way no one has gotten to level 100 without hacking of some sort, its just too unbelieveable that someone could grind to lv 100 which would take a legit player over 2 years.

So why waste your time people, find a better mmorpg.  I hate to say it but even Runescape beat this peice of junk.  If you enjoy kill stealing, a ton of 5 year olds spamming the word noob and no reason to party, no end game content and the same things over and over you will enjoy Maple Story.

After a month or so of casual playing, I agree with this post 100%.

Most MMO's (or at least most that I've played) give incentives to party grind. Not in this game. The only thing you can do is "Party Quest," which amounts to a semi-instanced series of really lame puzzles, most of which involve little to no group communication.

There is one raidboss though! Oh, but it's level 70+ (IIRC, correct me if I'm wrong). And there's really only one stratagy. And you can get basically any stuff you want from him off OTHER enemies or the free market (which is the most crooked free economy I've seen yet).

Another thing: GENDER SPECIFIC ARMOUR. Worst idea ever. 90% of female armour is useless vendor fodder because girls only seem to roll mages. I think I've seen 1 female assassin over my course of playing.

In conclusion, read the thread title and wait for 2Moons or something.

edit: hooboy... in before massive lol'age from my xfire.

You're probally right but if it passes the time and keeps um happy i think it's good anoth.

O and one last thing playing on the PC is a waste of time altogether so it don't matter,

Just One Thing To Keep In Mind

    "ENJOY YOURSELF"

Sorry bro, but I can state how I think about this game if I wish, its called a review and if you have a problem then don't reply to my topic.  Either way I take nothing back, and I still think maple story is a failing game, full of hacking, kill stealing and a failing community.  Not to mention that its pretty much a solo game and partying is pointless since all drops are fair game and lesser experince.

    What the heck...

Sure Maplestory may be a grind, but every game does (like you said.. i think) but it is a great game to make friends! I've made so many friends while Mapling! I only wish that some losers would stop calling other people names. But hey, that's what makes this game so interesting! Isn't it fun getting into fights lol

I love party quests and most of my members are very nice. (might be one bad guys sometimes =P)

It's still a good game to play when your bored of all other MMORPG's though.

    BOOM HEADSHOT

    Ok. Here's a better question.

What MMORPG isn't a waste of time? What do you ever get from playing an MMORPG? Money? Some take your money... a Reputation? Sure I guess an online reputation, but you'll never actually see these people in real life. Maybe some sort of prize? Only MMORPG that ever gave out a prize that I can think of was RYL, but they actually cancelled that anyways.

No MMORPG has a point. The real point of MMORPG's are to entertain. Maplestory is not a game about leveling. MapleStory is a game about having fun with your friends. Maybe you would enjoy the game more if you would stop concentrating so hard on leveling.

So try having fun with Maple instead of trying to be like Suuushi or some high level.

Like he said, every single MMO game has no point. In every single MMO game you grind until you level. In every single MMO there are really high levels that reward you with nothing and every single MMO has no meaning. What's so different about this one? Also, tons of games have gender specific armor. Why don't you just quit gaming in general? Games are made to have fun, you aren't supposed to get anything out of it. This game is also free, unlike games like WoW where you pay tons of money for yet also don't get anything in return. Sure, you make not like the 2D style of it, but why blame it on things like leveling and armor when thats what it's like in every single MMO?

ha, if you think a day of grinding at lvl 50 is bad, you should play EQ2. Without finding a group you could be looking at a week a level.

This game has alot of kids and those kids like to flame and loot and killsteal. I quit it monthes ago and found out i was better off without it thank god -.- I hated it so much the game is good but the community totally sucks its like runescape all over agian zzzzzzzzzzz. Lame I rate it 1 because it was very very boring and nothing to do quests are so little not enough to do shit.

I don't find kill stealing a problem.  They have 20 channels per server, and if you choose a vacant channel then that isn't an issue.  Plus things respawn in like three seconds anyway.
