Ok so no idea wtf happend on that post but w/e. I am pretty much just asking how this "bot" problem is for this game. I am looking for something to play now that i am getting bored with WoW and L2 caught my eye. I like the classes, graphics look good, and if the PvP is any good thats a big plus in my book. So anyone have any of their own opinions of this game and if it would be worth getting atm let me know. Thanks in advance.
This game is heavy on the grind, and you will spend alot of time in this game if you want to get high level, its a hard game, and the bots are pretty annoying. Whilst I hate Lineage 2, Its still a worthwhile MMO to play I guess, you just need to have the right attitude.
It really isn't a big deal. quite frankly, I had more problems with "live" farmers earlier on in the game then the bots.
And many people train them so that can work to your advantage. Or, if you are in a party (or in an area where there are few people) just pk them and work off the Karma.
The only place I can see bots being a huge problem is the new server because there are limited resources in the new server, therefore they are more "in your face".
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
from what i saw while i was there it's not the bot problem that's really the huge issue, it's the borked economy from the farmers that is, especially for low levels. other than that, i liked L2, just wasn't really my game.

After about 30 minutes of playing, I can say that I won't be buying/subscribing. Grahpics, sounds, interface are top notch... however, one huge flaw that most mmo's of this type [Japanese, Korean, etc designed] lack - locked FPS Mouselook mode [DDO, SWG, etc. WoW had an add-on to lock mouse look, but the devs broke it with a patch]. I need my mouselook FPS mode...
I went back and played for another month..same old shit. Seems to be less farmers and bots than launch when I first played. theyve added more things to give the game depth also....but it all seems pointless. If pvp is a big thing for you....may take you a Loooong time to get to the levels of anything worth playing. PVE is going to be your main thing for a long time with some occasional mixed pvp , ganking and griefing. Most of which will be happening to you.
Anyway with the type of games out right now....you should get your moneys worth in this game. Try it out, will pass the time if nothing else.

No Sovrath you are wrong, sorry it is a huge deal when there are more bots in an area then players and mobs combined. You have seen the pics? That is how it was Sovrath. It was pathetic.
I said many times, I can live with bots being in a game as they are in all, just stay the f*ck out of my way. But this was over the top. It was pretty sad.
By now they are probably dispersed and now the impact of the day is gone.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear.
I 100% agree. The pictures are true (seen it myself) and yes, it makes it unplayable. No argument from me.
I was talking about my play on a mature server. You don't see areas (above ground, not in catas/necros) which are as densely covered with the bots. I've always seen them in the distance or in a hunting ground next to me. Because of this, I've never had any issues with them. I had more issues with farmers when they were actually operated by real people. If I hunted close to them they would threaten me (and of course, the usual fight in order to remove them from my party's site). But the bots are just that... they are mindless. A pain in the neck and a detriment to the larger game, but you can go to areas and not even have to fight for real estate.
The Wasts is like that (at lower lvls), and I've found that Forest of the dead has them but I've always been able to find an area to grind in. I rarely see them in Blazing Swamp.
On Franz however, that is a different story.

I went on Teon last night to have a look. No bots in the starter areas I was able to get into.
I guess thanks to Franz, many have left to beef up the inventory there. Everyone is going to need their B grade by at least next week.
I went to look around on Teon. One thing I always wanted was a suit of Zubei's Heavy armor.
I love that suit. Well anyway I found one. Total it was 15 mil for the legs and breastplate. I have the money but that would be all she wrote for me in L2 if I spent it. Then I started thinking, is it really "worth" that much? No, it has a chance of drop. You know how long it would take me to remake 15 mil? To damn long. Then I started thinking back and you know, it wasn't that expensive last time I played.
Damn bots, damn currency buyers. Damn economy. I always said the economy was to hard. This is the end result.
But remember... ALL these games have them. And I agree, the L2 Economy is a pain in the ass. However, even WoW and Guild Wars has gold sellers which really seem odd to me as both games are very easy in getting money.
Since L2 doesn't have instances you see these bots. I imagine as players lvl (and bots lvl) they will disperse to different parts of the world and be less intrusive.
As a matter of fact, the only game I know of that doesn't have gold sellers is Ryzom. But that could be due to the fact that is doesn't have a large playerbase and also that money is easy to come by. At least it doesn't seem to be a big deal to higher lvl players.
Maybe the problem is that game companies don't make it "fun" to acquire wealth and players look for alternate ways to get it. It could also be that casual players would like to play the game but don't have the time to put in in order to be competitive like their 8 hour per day brothers. Therefore they just decide to purchase their way to the top.
I really don't know what the answer is. Because, if game companies were "really" successful in eliminating bots and farmers you wouldn't be able to find companies on the net who supply them.
