Codemasters - Not good enough.

My first encounter with Codemasters was through RF Online, and account management was handled horribly. People who bought the game, had to wait hours at best, even days to get into the game.

Now with LOTRO I wanted to PM a community mangager at the EURO site about my VIP key, that cannot be put into your COG account. with COG we you need both a COG account and a COG forum account. My COG account PW, I forgot, my bad.. but using their retrieve lost PW from the front page, takes hours and hours.

It seems many things are slow and not working proberly. They seem like some fancy company, not realizing what it takes to run, thousands of accounts..

I dunno, I just have this bad feeling about Codemasters.

Am I alone in this?

I've not experienced them first hand. I personally haven't had any major issues with Turbine so heres hoping Turbine will peer preseure Codemasters to up their customer service standards.

"People who bought the game had to wait hours?"

=> haven't heard of much people having issues

As for the PW thing: One, your fault to forget it... (it's kind of.... silly to blame THEM... pardon me)
I had the same problem, and in a matter of... minuts, it was resolved.

I like pretty much the way CM handles foreign games. Those kind of RFO, archlord... aren't a easy job for our market.
+ concerning DDO: I never saw better help to customers. Their GM are... incredibly helpfull, very kind and take time to answer. They even hired Alchemic dreams, and they make some nice events.

Really... if you wanna blame something about the game, blame turbine...

Codemasters' sites are tough to deal with. And like the op said resetting your password is sooo frustrating and can take hours to do.  I feel your pain and i'm so glad that i'll be dealing with turbines site for this game.

I stored the e-mail i got from CM with my password on a floppy disk so if i forget it all i have to do is pop it in and look at it. Not hard to do. I have not had much exp with CM. I live in the states so i don't have to worry about their Customer service. Good luck.

For the CM beta for EU not sure. For the NA beta on the turbine site it is in the slot were it asks if you have a vip code in the beta app.

I used to play RFO and I never had such problems. I think they could do well if they try and we should at least give 'em a chance before saying they'll fuck up.

Codemaster does have poor Customer Service, been throug hit first hand. One reason why I stopped RFO. Beside that the game was way, way unbalanced. Bu thtat another forum. But I do agree, people that havent really dealt with Codemasters CS, your in for a world of hurt.

again for RFO... you speak of unbalanced...
They just let you play the game, they don't make or fix them.
    Blame Korean devs ;)

Go under you LotR beta profile ,if you have made one already. If not ,sign up for a forum account and click on beta profile. There is a space on there for your vip code.

There is a FAQ on the american boards that suggest to PM "Satine" and ask her.

I've done it but still no answer. will keep posted.

Codemasters actually does quite a good job when it comes to MMO's Sure RFO had some trouble at launch, but it was still a very smooth launch. CM is doing a great job now.

I am still recieving following emails from Codemasters concerning the RF account I closed several months ago:

Your subscription to RF Online has been closed as result of an overdue payment.

This may be because your payment details have become invalid since you created your payment agreement.

If you believe that this is incorrect then please contact the COG support team.

You may reactive this subscription at any time by logging into your COG account:

Just shows another example that they have little control over what they are doing, and that you will have a hard time trusting these guys.
