in EVE Online

being skint at the moment could anybody please point me in the direction of some free mmorpg eve type game splease.

also is anarchy online as good as people say?

    To start with Anarchy isant that good its bugged and you will belucky if your downloader patches you right.

    Game wise try guild wars its free as in no subscription and its pretty good for a fantasy mmo [being free helps].

    Saga of Ryzom is free up to when you leave noob isle.  It supposedly takes 40+hours to do all quests there before you get to the mainland.  To leave noob isle you need to purchase game and pay the monthly fee.  It's a decent game, nice graphics and the community seems to be helpful. I played it for a while befoe I got into EVE.  My husband got me hooked on EVE and now I'm totally addicted to it.

    AO is ok, but like LordSlater said, it's really buggy.  Played it at launch and it still has some of the bugs left over from launch....

    Saga of Ryzom...It's decent but it's not EVE by any means.  I did enjoy the game play though.

    Space Cowboy is actually a nice Space MMO, its free and kinda fills the void that some people would like in Eve. It allows for free flight, meaning, you fly with a mouse and keyboard. HAvent figured out joystick yet, but if you ever played Freelancer, then it will be easy to control. There is grinding though. At first you start out doing planetary missions, then you will move to space. 3 servers, all are PvP.  Start out on the Hover server, I got a level 25 guy there, so if you like the game, I can atleast hook you up with some nice equipment I been safing. I am kinda stuck at the moment. THey want Flight Formations, Gangs, but I cannot find anyone willing to do this one mission. You can solo most of the missions, but this one for level 25 is hard.

    I'm playing EVE for 9 months till now, 2 accounts, active player (I wanna be less active since some consider this as addiction and I'm forced to agree)... We are in a mature player Corporation, with players in the 20-43 years old, that is nice cuz we don't have immature behaviours and selfish. We joinned an alliance and were in preparations to move our base of operations to 0.0, all the players have assets above 1 bi ISK in the wallet and a lot (when I say a lot I mean, really, a LOT) more in Ships, modules, implants, etc...

    But, to our surprise, the game become unplayable with the last patch, lots of complains in the forum and (this is our surprise) no reply from CCP staff - this is really weird because it was one of the things that made EVE different from any other MMO was the sharing of information of CCP Devs. Mods and GMs... for 4 days they keep silent about the situation, and that is causing a lot of more confusion in the forum, we feel ignored...

    Well, as I'm playing MMO for quit some time, and when I like some game I usually keep playing for months, till some changes start to screw my fun, EVE changes started in that direction and that is why I'm here, asking the other veterans here where I can hold my mouse pointer in the next few months, since playing EVE in the manner I was for the last 9 months keep me apart of what is going on in the other MMO.

    Don't get me wrong, I love EVE and the community out there, I have a lot of friends and we interact a lot, but I will not pay for 2 accounts for the service they are providing now, and started my exploration for other game I can go, and probably, all my old friends in EVE too, I'm not anlone in that feelings.

    I think you will find that most of these probelms that came with the nessasary patch are being looked at. It was nessasary partly because Microsoft stoped supporting some of there older Operating systems so eve had to repalce its branch code with a new one.

    This is like replacing the branches of a tree with new ones without disturbing the leaves.

    Obviously this will cause a LOT of hidden bugs im afraid it may take a month for them to fiix most of the bugs but be assured that they will work on it.

    This is probablty why they havent communicated much latels as they are too buisy bughunting.

    On a lighter note like the majoraty of eve palyers it seems none of these bugs have affected me
