I will happily wait as long as it takes for them to come to market with a stable game!

Other than that, no I can't wait.

What possible motivation could you have hoping for that for any game?

This game looks pretty bare to me.  There are not to many characteristics that make this game diffrent, or even interesting for that matter.  The only thing that keeps this game going is that it is connected with the lord of the rings trilogy.  Hopefully I'll be able to learn a little more about it in the near future so that it will change my mind.  Until then, I'm not really to interested in this game.

Other then the fact of using up the name and storyline thus so another MMRPG couldnt be made by another company that would fully resemble the story?

Lets think about it, MEO, based around the storyline of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, storyline, age, etc.

The time was in turmoil, there were already skirmishes, verge of the break of war.

You make the game, what is your job? Lets kill some orcses, what do you do? Kill orcses, get mithril coat. Etc. Loot, kill, loot kill.

PvP? At the most there will be duels, in a game set of war...And all you do is stay around the shire and kill orcs and bunnies. Whoaaa, thats LoTR for you.

personally, I'd love to play this game...I'm way up there in the LoTR freaks...

but I also know that when I play it, I'll hate it within an hour because of the crap they change from the story... so.. I'd rather not play it

EDIT : just like how the movies were made great, but I still hated them cuz of the changes.

Finwe, if the game comes to market and fails then that sets back any attempt in the future.

Wish it success, because success begets success. If they don't do well by the concept, someone else will attempt to do it and do it better. In the end, Cristopher Tokien owns the rights no matter what...if he prefers to see it done better then no doubt he'll give that right to another group. If it fails, then that sets back the cause immeasurably.

Chris tolkien I was under the impression cared alot about his father's work, and that may be so. But so far, I see a HUGE deviation from Middle Earth lore altogether, and it may be a good game, although I still hate all carebear games, may be a good carebear game, may do real well. But it still wouldnt be middle-earth.

As for it being successful, possible another attempt, etc. Ya, maybe expansions, or, Middle Earth online 2, (that just sounds freakish). But it'd be the same game with more experiences. Personally when sierra was in control of the project, I was looking forward to it. And I had alot of respect for turbine for awhile, I thorougly enjoyed playing AC1, best experiences i've ever had playing a game. But then they made AC2, horrid game. And its like they havent learned. The worse of it all, not only will they ruin one of my favorite stories-being turned game, but two! Dungeons & Dragons online.

I think one problem is, is that they're gutless, not willing to try something new.

Middle Eath online has one major innovation for roleplay games and that is the skill increase system. Like EVE-Online the skills will increase in real time so no grinding! (I hate grinding for experience). This also means that they had better have lots of content and real good roleplay motivation.

Other than that it seems like a conventional PvE game.
