"What happened to you, Star Wars Galaxies? You used to look like Leia. Not quite gold bikini Leia (more like bad-British-accent-and-cinnamon-bun-hair Leia), but still Leia nonetheless. Now you look like Chewbacca." - Computer Gaming World
Congratulations SOE! You just mixed Poker with an Enema and I just experienced a straight flush. But I know that you are still full of it.

:-- i presume most laughed at from rival companies is the word he was looking for here even there own dev's admit NGE was mistake.
I agree with op that these are funny - what i dont like is the fact the total lies and fiction these guys sprout to sell a product.
Count the numbers.
Do the math.
It's true. Doesn't make it an epic acomplishment, but from business perspective, it's true.
While I agree that a spoonful of humilty would hurt there, and that these statements come with a side order of salt, they are, in business sense, true.
And like it or not, SOE has considerably more credibility than random studios that want to do a MMORPG. For a very simple reason. If you can show that you've been running so many games, you mean something. At least compared to those that haven't published even one.
But besides, this is the usual marketing speak that's always on these products. Not to be taken too seriously.

It sounds great, so great in fact, I pitty those who canceled - Some deluded SWG fanboi who pities me.
I don't like it when you say things. - A Vanguard fan who does too.

Without the financial backing of Sony and LEC it wouldn't have lasted long enough to earn this title.
Yep, true again. They are running more titles than just about any company out there. Think of it this way: Microsoft might be number 1, but Apple and IBM are leading. Leaders don't always need to #1.

Running the most games out there doesn't make it a leader of the industry. Leadership is a qualitative value not quantitative.

Are the numbers you are talking about of just joining of the game or still in the game. Yes SoE has had alot of new players join in winter-spring but alot of vets have left.
So if i make 10 crapy MMO's i will be the leader? sweet got to get right on that

How are the crediable? they have lost alot of players recently and they know it was there fault, they even said so in a article.

And the biggest question is why are you defending SoE?!?!??!?!?!?!
