in Star Wars Galaxies

Does SWG really follow thru with themes from the Star Wars movies and single-player games?

Or is it a completely different kind of game with the same brand name and some of the same characters?

I haven't played this game so I don't know...

    If your wanting opionion on the themes its in my opionion its a different type of game, with some of the same names and themese.

    If you are curious as to what the game is like, I would skip the opinions from here becuase you will get both.. I would reccomend you go play the 10 day trial they offer and see for yourself what you think.


    Having access to a billion $ IP - Billions of dollars..

    ya requires credit card...but don't get it...get something worthwhile...if u get swg, ur gonna make a char think the game is mediocre, keep playing and then soe will be like...WOAH WOAH, MEDIOCRE, THATS TOO GOOD FOR US! LETS TAKE IT DOWN 10 MORE NOTCHES...trust me

    It's full of themed crap. "Star Warsy and Iconic" **God kicks a puppy**, they call it. The newb station is full of it, but after that it's pretty much just one quest line with Jabba sending you annoying messages and quests to do. I hope it makes you feel special inside ^_^.

    If you have a friend who plays it ask them.  Asking here is a waste of breath because the haters will tell you it sucks and the fanbois will tell you it is awesome... there are very few 'middle of the road' players left here because they all got sick of the constant troll wars.

    I'd advise you but I'm too far detatched from the game to be able to give a valid opinion of current gameplay.  I haven't played since the NGE went live... it's not my thing but some enjoy it.  My best advice is try the trial... if you like it odds are you'll probably enjoy the game.

    SWG doesn't really follow the same theme as most Starwars games (for example, this takes place during the Galactic Civil War and Jedi are EVERYWHERE).  As far as it being good, I won't advise you on that.  I'm too biased, most people are.  The old players pretty much got screwed when the new systems were made and the new players don't seem to hate it.  (I'm an old player, therefore I'm biased towards the game in it's current form being nothing more than salvage.)

    Basically, they made a fun complex game an easy game...whether the easy version is fun or not is up to debate.  Personally, I think they tried to make the game more like WoW, so if you like WoW you MAY like the new SWG...(I still call it new though it's been in this form for a while now).

    Now it is a mediocre at best Jedi vs. Bounty Hunter arena with magical EQ particle effects.

    Also you need to know that if you play this game you will be supporting the horrid by-product of one of the most cold-hearted, and low-life scams ever to be pulled on your fellow gamers....

    It's harsh I know.. but it's true....
