Border Patrol busts 50+ pounds of cocain entering southern Border

http://kvoa.com/Global/story.asp?S=5385430
TUCSON, Ariz. -- U.S. Border Patrol agents seized 56 pounds of cocaine during a routine vehicle inspection near Arivaca, authorities said.

The cocaine has an estimated street value of more than $1.5 million.

The discovery was made Thursday at a rest stop on Interstate 19, said Agent Gustavo Soto, a spokesman for the agency's Tucson Sector.

Border Patrol agents were assisting the Arizona Department of Transportation with commercial-vehicle inspections when a vehicle Dodge Neon drove into one of the inspection lanes.

A Border Patrol drug-detecting dog alerted its handler to the presence of drugs in the car, Soto said.

The owner of the car consented to having his vehicle searched, and it yielded a small amount of marijuana, several small bags of methamphetamines and a false compartment where 22 bricks of cocaine were being stored.

Soto said the two men in the car, both of whom are Mexican nationals, were arrested and in the custody of the Drug Enforcement Administration, Soto said.

And an unconfirmed report says that the driver was only coming here "For a better life"

Awesome. While Border Patrol was focused on that, 500 more Mexicans ran across the border right behind their backs.

And my question is... So what?  Millions of dollars more are still on the streets, not as if it actually matters.  If you're stupid enough to try it in the first place then might as well die by it...

Your ability to remain so "up to date," and "in the know" would be awe-inspiring if it wasn't so misguided.

LOL maybe once they find the 100s of tons that is smuggled every year they will make a dent.  War on drugs has been a failure from its beginnings.  Pick up a history book, prohibition was a failure. Why ? Cause the demand for the banned substance was high. As long as there's demand the government can't do crap.

It's better be hated for who you are, than loved for who you aren't.
