    Well I just got on.
I am excited to hear about this.
But the only flaw is I won't be able to get a wii till I'm out of AIT.
Can't wait to play against you in some SSBB.

*dances* sorry but you can't touch this.

Theres nothing on the system presently that I remotely want to play besides the new Zelda, the rest is the same old crap, done much worse than it could have been. Then again, the only thing on the 360 so far is Oblivion, and I have the PC version :D

So for now, I'm just sticking with my old N64, and Xbox

Well, it's kind of interesting, but I just got an XBox 360, and I don't have much spare money, so I think I'll have to pass until I see a game that I just have to have. I saw one game, where you had a hammer, and you controlled your hammer by swinging the controller... sounds kind of cool. Also, the whole arcade-type thing looks pretty sweet.

$250 bucks, with 25 games at launch. All in all a good start, hopefully Nintendo does better this time around than with the GC

    Wii sux! all bout PS3!!!!

Hahaha, I'm just kidding. I can imagine Spath's face as he was reading that.

But, yeah, things are looking really good for Nintendo. Only $250 for a next-gen console with a sweet launch lineup.

Is much as I love the Wii, and I am deffently gonna get one, I dont think calling it a "next-gen" consol is correct.

Personaly I see a "Next-Gen" as a powerbox that can handle the future graphics etc, we all know Wii cant. Its not really new hardware wise. The only thing going for it is its revolitionary control system. Its the backbone to it and we all know that.

I am so looking forward to a Star Wars game for the Wii. Swishing around my lightsaber like no tomorrow. LOL, ah I can see my tears of joy right now...

So for you better graphics sound more like next-gen that a totallt new way of playing? Interesting...

Anyway, I really don't know why the hell they made it 250$... I mean, c'mon 250? Why not 200? That should still be enough to make profit with each console sold, or not? I think they stuck Wii sports in the package so people wouldn't complain about the price...

    Still, I will get one

Yeah actually I would call the Wii more "next-gen" than the PS3 or Xbox360. The PS3 and 360 are just the same ol' same ol' with shinier graphics, where the Wii actually went for something new. I foresee the Wii selling well and giving other companies more incentive to try new things. The games industry has been stagnating lately IMO.

my issue is that buying a new controller with run you 60 dollars, and the system only comes with one...that's a lot of money for a damn controller.

boo to the ps3, sorry but I would rather just spend a few hundred more and get a computer.......

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

This will probably mean bugger all to most people here but for aussies (like me) it will be out in december with a $400 price tag (nintendo's rrp). considering the wii will have the biggest launch library of any console ever it represents superb value for money my way (although i'm not sure what the 360 is going for). My local EB games store are just as stoked as everyone here supporting it.

My two cents: PS3 trying and dying in the water, blu ray vs hd-dvd RICHO has made it irrelevant by making a drive that can read both (and can soon burn both) pfft blu ray.

Athlon XP 2000+, 1.5 GB RAM, ASUS A7V333 m/b, GeForce 6600 256mb, 300 gig ide, Pioneer DVD Burner + ROM.
Yeah I thought you might laugh at it. LEAVE ME ALONE!!!

This may be true, but when you factor everything else in, you see it isn't really that big of a thing when you compare overall console price. The standard controls will run at $20, and the motion sensitive, fancy Wii controls, which are actually 2 controllers in 1, will be $60. The console itself is only going to be $250, pocket change when you consider the price of the other big hitter systems. The games are set to be $10 cheaper than for the other systems, and with a much bigger/better lineup IMO than the other systems. The Wii is supposed to have 19 games at LAUNCH, the 360 has been out for nearly a year and there are maybe 20 games available for it. Not only that, but you're going to have backwards compatibility on the Wii all the way back the NES. I'd buy the system alone just for that (I REALLY, REALLY, miss the old NES games ). But the price of the base controller of the Wii (the remote control lookin' thinga-ma-bob) is gonna run at either $29 or $39, and the nunchaku (joystick) attachment at $19 or $29.

So lets do a quick price comparison.
Wii, with 2 games and extra controller: $410
Xbox 360 with 2 games and extra wireless controller: $560
PS3 with 2 games and extra controller: $750ish (estimated)

Now maybe the Gamecube wasn't a huge hit, but in my opinion over Nintendo's career, they have always focused more on fun (F-U-N) than on shiny graphics, which is a bit of a relief to me, where Sony and Microsoft (with a few notable exceptions) have focused more on shiny graphics than overall gameplay.

The choice is clear to me
