BANNED -- EQ2 account - Bad customer support

kovacevdkovacevd Member Posts: 9
Hi i have been playing EQ2 for about 3 months and suddenly got banned..

The Customer support in game is really bad. they never try to fix issues.
Once i had a crafting issue with selecting my proffesion but they never fixed it..

and lastly they banned me becuase i said something back to someone who had made bad remarks to me..

I dont like the game anymore and i guess i need to find something else..

Anyone got any suggestions on a good MMORPG game that has nice graphics, good customer support,
and good pvp side to it.  It doesnt bother me how much it cost per month ..
Like they say what you pay for is what you get.. thats something that doesnt totally apply to EQ2 since you pay the cash but dont get what u expect.

Thanku

I've never had a problem with SOE's customer service. Any issues I've had (ex. got stuck in a wall once) got handled in an hour.

You must be one of those small percentage of people that has had problems.

There isn't a single game out there that can match EQ2 atm, imo. There are some coming up that have a chance so long as I don't feel like I'm playing DAoC (I think it's a very outdated look and feel). But most of those haven't yet announced a release date.

Moirae well you havent tried EVE Online then..
I have been playing EVE online for about 9 months now and been playing EQ2 until i got banned ..

I can tell you straight out of you like online games you will like EVE online more..

PVP is awsome, You can purely creat your character how you want, not like EQ2 were you have to work on your race and proffession and also you need to buy better skills ..

Thats the main thing thats bad about eq2 is the skill system how u automatically get skills at certain lvl but then you nheed to BUY skills to upgrade them.. everything in game is done purely with money and secondly with time..

Eve online is all time based, the skills you want to learn are enterly up to the character himself and once you purchase ur skill you can learn it to max if you want..

Try it out i bet you will love it :)

That accurately describes EVE as well...

....and the customer services in eve are no better than EQ2.

I used to visit this site a lot however in recent years it has become the home of negative forum posts, illogical opinions and tantrums so I visit less often.

    Played or Beta'd: UO / DAOC / Horizons / EQ2 / DDO / EVE / Archlord / PirateKingsOnline / Tabula Rasa / LOTRO / AOC / Champions / Darkfall / Mortal Online / DCUO / Rift / STO / SWTOR / TSW

Not to mention, out of all the posts on here, why would you ever think the argument "The PvP is better" would ever appeal to me?

I LOATH PvP and everything that comes with it.

I have to agree.  PVP is a pain in the arse if it constantly invades your gaming without your consent.  It was the worst thing about UO then they introduced a safe non PVP area.  That really annoyed the PKers. LOL

In EQ2 I believe it is consentual.

In EVE there are supposed to be safe areas but they are not always safe as I was pod killed twice in a 0.6 secure area by a player called Donald Trump and that was during the tutorial

If a game forced PVP on me I would not play it for long.

Yes, it's consentual, but you wouldn't believe it. I've actually seen people argue for removing that. They want the ability for open PvP everywhere. I think these are the people that have some anger problems in real life.

The second you log into a PVP game, such as UO or EVE, you are concenting to PVP. The games are designed with PVP in mind. Why on earth would you play them if you didn't want to PVP?

    Free Trial.

Back to the original topic, I played EQ from 99-05 and EQ2 on and off since launch. I've never been treated with anything but courtesy by the staff when I had a problem, and never had to wait for more than an hour for a fix.

SOE has a ton of problems, but I honestly think the support staff gets a bad rap unfairly.

I totally agree.  And I often find that the people moaning about CS have unrealistic demands, they seem to think CS are only there to correct their mistakes.

So what did you say to get banned ?

  • aspalmataspalmat Member Posts: 51

I personally have never had any issues with CS in EQ2.  But then again, I've never needed theie help for anything.  EQ 2 seems very polished and bug free to me.  I'm sure there are issues, I just haven't ran into any yet.

Seems to me the EQ2 forum is the wrong place to try to sell people on EVE.  I've played my fair share of MMO's, and I can honestly say in my opinion, EVE is the most boring piece of crap I have ever played.  I'd rather watch paint dry on the wall, then play EVE.  Oh wait, I can watch paint dry on the wall and play EVE at the same time it's so slow and boring, my bad.

I only ever had a glitch once while playing EQ2. I got stuck in a wall. That was all I've ever seen in the entire time I've been playing it (about a year and a half).

I think people just want to find problems. But this is the wrong place to come trying to sell another game. It's also low.

pff if anything i think all the good csr from SoE work on EQ2.

EQ2 support is top notch and one of the best out there. If only other SoE products had such good support

It is good to hear that Sony's Customer Service has gotten better. I've had a couple of problems in EQ2. I've gotten stuck in a wall, I've finished quests in the game but my journal would never update that I finished the quest. There are some bugs, but not many. Heh, remember the griffon bug? How about getting hit by mobs in the ceiling and walls but not being able to hit back? Oh, I've had many a death from that. There have also been some spell bugs, but nothing major at least for me. During that entire time I"ve never petitioned or asked for help from the CSR's. I suppose that was a lesson learned in EQ.

In the first couple of months of playing EQ when it first came out (not counting all the downtime) I received quite a bit of help from the GMs. Ah, I remember a GM coming down to comfort me when after camping a mob for 9 hours (My first camp experience) it was stolen from me in one fell swoop. Or when the naked barbarian GM gave me my last name in unrest. Good times. Anyway, after awhile the Customer Service went downhill for me. I played for many years so the list of things I needed help on would be long and include bugs and issues with other pc's. Through the years I played (not counting the first several months) I think I remember only one time when a GM answered me back quickly. It was to correct my last name. I suppose I noticed the drop off with the GMs because of the care I had received at the beginning of the game. When I kept getting the same response (scripted message) everytime I had a problem and then wouldn't hear anything for days, well that's when I kind of gave up asking for help.

So I'm definately glad to hear that they've gotten better. As for getting banned, well I have to agree, you must have really said something bad for that to happen. There was this story I enjoyed reading about this necromancer who tried to get banned while he was in Oasis (EQ). He did everything under the sun to get banned. Used horrible language and racial slurs and still he just got suspended.
