I play drums. I'll swap your electric kit for my acoustic What electric kit are you playing? If it's a TD12/20 then I'd say keep that and dont bother with an acoustic, because it's that much better...
What style drumming do you do? That's basically what will dictate it... Also, are there any particular techniques you use in your own playing style (if you have one)? And what type of stick do you use?
Those factors are overlooked normally when people buy kits, which leads most drummers to sounding like shit when playing... As such, I will refrain from advising until I get those answers :P Oh, and what's your budget?

I have about $800, and I play anything from jazz to alternative rock to speed metal, my friends are getting together a metal project of a sort and don't have a drummer, but have heard me play so wanted me...I guess its going to be a mix of DragonForce, Tool, and Opeth. Lol i know Yamaha's suck...I was actually just looking at a DDrum( I don't know how good they are but the review said it was alright). I think pearls are too expensive for my taste...Oh and i was wondering do most drumsets come with symbals or do you have to buy your own, because then I'd have to take out about 250 of that 800 for cymbals.

lol, exactly what I was thinking, but lets not hijack this thread. Continue drum geeks.
Solution is to buy a used kit, get a better quality set for less money, just have to ignore a few dints and scratches.
If you buy a new entry level kit within your budget and you will basically get a sack of crap. Plus you may be able to do a deal on cymbals with the seller, he/she will more than likely be selling them together.
