    cool :)

God is indeed amazing..too bad we will never EVER discover life on any other planet...and even more unfortunate that we spend tons of money trying :(

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

If you do a rough calculation, it'd estimate up to 200 billion billion more stars than grains of sand. [And that is if you JUST multiply the amount of galaxies estimated with the size of the Milky Way (which either way is way too small of a number)]

Pretty amazing if you just stop and think about it.  And there's suns even bigger.

That was an amazing pic to look at. Really gives you something to *look* at to see the size difference. Wow.

It's not new to me (Thanks to The Magic School Bus), but the last few images are amazing.

    EDIT

If Nepturne has no solid surfaces, a planet could go right though it right?

I wonder what our planet would be like if it was the size of Antares

Alex, traveling would be a bitch....actually there would be more places to travel. I dout the whole planet would ever be explored. There would be more resources and possibly more oil. There would be a hellava lot more than 24 hours (correct me if I'm wrong).

    It would be some experience.

That would be sooooo friggen cool.

It would depend on how fast the planet spun around to have 24 hour days. It would have to spin hella fast at that size. If that large planet spins the same speed as Earth then days would last probably a million times longer lol.

A death trap, the gravity alone would crush you into nothingness.

The gases would still be enough to cause some damage in the impact, nothing on the surface would survive.

Depending upon the size of the planet, it would also likely be trapped in Neptune's gravity.

A great view of how hopelessly useless we are in the big picture.

    Yeah its funny isnt it.....

I have always seen it that way. But more so lately Im beginnning to see how b1tchin we are too. The space station is pretty damn cool and we should have a base on either the moon or mars in the not too distant future, then who knows what from there. Humans Rawk really  but I guess we wont know how much we rawk till we get further out and see who else is about.

That is of course  assuming the "faithful" dont destroy us all first before we even get off the planet

Why do you say that? We've sent a probe to one of Saturns moons (can't remember which off the top of my head), apparently it's a major candidate to support life. It'll be damn interesting to find out what's there, at the moment it's shrouded by thick clouds, so we aren't sure what the terrain is like, however they say it's quite possible it'll have sea's/lakes of water.

I think we'll find signs of primitive life within the next 50 years, although I like to think it'll be alot sooner.

    Wow...Awsome. :3

The gods and goddess are amazing indeed!

I wouldn't mind a new home planet the size of Jupiter. We'd have ALOT more room, that's for damn sure...

I can't wait till we find extra life. It may not be in our life time, but it WILL happen. You'd have to be an idiot to think there isn't any life out there. That's just impossible.

Is it as smart as us? Maybe, maybe not. Smarter? Maybe, maybe not. We'll just have to wait and find out. ^^

    I feel really small...

    heh, that's pretty awesome.
Jupiter has the gases to become another sun.
It's like a torch soaked in gas.
All the gases on the sun are on Jupiter.

I think that's what I learned back in science class..., correct me if i'm wrong lol.

It's amazing to see Juipter so small compared to the other suns.

I'm glad everyone is enjoying the photos.  When I seen this I just had to post, I thought it was amazing.

Wow... amazing. Thanks for sharing Vertex.

It's so hard to imagine that something as huge as Antares, and probably bigger, out there in the sky. Kinda makes you dizzy when you look up at night from our humble little rock.

I'll say this now, and I'm not afraid to say so, even if there's tons of life out there in the Universe, I guarantee you Earth has the best gamers!!!
