Web-Based MMORPGs

Well, im sure you know what i mean, im looking for one of those web-based games, there are lot of lists for mmorpgs but none for web based ones, which are pretty good when you cant play your mmorpg :D

I'm playing ogame right now, which i like a lot, but would like to play another, a more classic one, with a single character, swords, magic and that stuff, i have tried racewarkingdomds, everwars, and some others i dont remember right now, so ... any suggestion? :D

All MMORPGs are web-based by definition, unless you have networked 1000+ computers in your house.  That said, the vast majority of us have no clue what you could possibly be talking about.

I can't tell if Souldrainer is being sarcastic or just condescending, but either way I think it best to ignore the last post.

I don't know of many browser-based MMORPGs, I use to play some strategic tick-based games, but the only game I can think of that might fit your request is Adventure Quest. http://www.battleon.com/

The modern MMORPG is simply not worthy, of the acronym RPG. The straight grind and lack of atmosphere leave me with no choice. From this day forth, World of Warcraft, Everquest 2, and all the games like them shall be referred to as PIGCRAP. People In Guilds Constantly Raiding And Power-leveling

I didn't realize that a statement to the effect of, "please clarify your question." was sarcastic and condescending.

I guess I was supposed to somehow infer that the OP meant browser based as opposed to web based, which are two entirely different things.  Even so, it was hard to be sure about that, seeing as how I've never heard of any of the games mentioned in the OP.

Feel free to browse trough this list of games: Multiplayer Online Games Directory.

Of course there are many other sites like that just search them in any serach engine...

    Few games I would suggest:

Runescape - Great browser/java based game ;) One of best (In my opinion best but I can't make other people to believe it...)

Adventure Quest RPG - Another great browser/flash based game ;)

These two are real time based games (you don't need to wait for any times to respawn move point, mana points etc.). Of course there are few tick based (don't really like turn based games...) games I like e.g. :

Lords: The Crusade , Travian , Astro Empires and of course many, many more...

Hope I helped you a bit.

I just googled it. I was in a pissy mood at the time of the post. I try not to post then, but I guess I was bored.

It just seemed as if you were saying 'What's a web-based game? Are you stupid?', but my reply was worse than yours. My apologies.

And web-based and browser-based are essentially the exact same thing. Web is a shortening of world wide web, which is defined as 'a system of extensively interlinked hypertext documents: a branch of the Internet.' Web signifies pages, not the network.

Anyways, I could have handled my initial reply with a bit more tact. My apologies. I made another bad post today too, let's see if I catch flak for that one.

Np.  We all make mistakes.  I added some small details to my first post for clarification, not to incense anybody.

I still don't think web and browser based are the same.  Web is to browser as road is to car.  Many MUDs are web based, and can be accessed regardless of which browser you use.  If you try to switch browsers when using a browser based game, you'll shut it down.

lol, ok, what about web-browser-based mmorpg? =P you know, when i talk about a web im meaning a website with its html, not a network, thats why i said web-based, i knew there was a more accurate term for them but couldnt remember at that time =P although i didnt know it was going to be so hard to guess heheh

i've also tried adventure quest and runescape, but these are more graphical and i was looking for some with more text, those that you only need a few mins to do some stuff then close them and come back later, like ogame itself :D

Anyway, i found some good ones im gonna try from one of the links a guy posted, so whorever posted the mpogd.com link thanks =P
