Looks like the ducks gave up

in Star Wars Galaxies
The forums over there are down and from the attitude sounds like they won't be comming back up anytime soon. I think the L33t kiddies found out coding a game was too difficult and gave up.

    BTW I know why Joker took 1k. After finding out why I can't say I blame him at all.

    Actually no, he posted on sunday saying because people kept saying they ran their boards like nazi's they would keep it completely unedited. The next day the forums came down due to overwhelming responses of negativity. Make no mistake friends, the idea of the emu is sound but the people who were doing it were nothing more then young adults with not enough production coding experiance.

    Several of these guys are experienced coders, and haven't been carded in a while...

    I guess he wrote most of the code and that is why they are having such a hard time now. He didn't do anything but quite because he got sick of working with little trash talkin kids. From what I heard if he hadn't taken it ulty would have wasted it on his pointless trip to Oregon. Well I do know that there is another team of older more mature people working on the code right now and it's not the duck team of spastic kids. Wait for them to make their presence known I guess.

    Of course everyone else said Joker's coding was shoddy and they had to rebuild it from base.

    Everybody talks a good game about the ducks but past summer the only good game about ducks I noticed is that the ducks had numbers on the bottom and my sons would always win.

    Too bad, here we have a no win scenio folks.

    There is supposed to be a "big" announcement this coming weekend (Sept. 22nd).  The buzz is that it will have to do with a fairly functional CU version of SWG.  That was actually posted on their forums under "Announcements" last week.

    no, none of these guys working on the side have said anything. Right now its the 29-30 somethings Vs. the 16-19 yr olds (SWGEMU).

    I have given up on both ive realized theyres never gonna be a Star wars mmo worth a shyte unless bioware or another company makes it that doesnt abuse customers and lie to them and charge them to beta test it on top of that. Im holding out for STO/Stargate. I just wish i could seriously talk to george lucas about SWG if i ever see him at the comi con or some event i will sure as hell ask him fla out i mean how he can stand by and let his franchise be run into the ground like this is beyond me? I tried the Duck version and problem is you got to many passionate kids who all want to be have there own server and version and not work toghter and make one that works in the first place. Ive uninstalled SWG and broke my cds and threw them int the dumpster where they belong.

    My question still stands. Why go into a war over a domain name, which isn't even that particular, and especially in such a way.

    The ducks are quacking, but it looks as if their forums will be only be up temporarily and then shut down permanently.
