Back in WoW for now

BoanergesBoanerges Member UncommonPosts: 21

So I've been all over the board and tried to find a fun game that I can play after getting to level 60 in WoW.  I've played MMORPGs since 1999 and have struggled as many of you do regarding content, style and play.

But I've gone back to WoW to play and here is why.  My brother plays it, my best friend plays it, his girlfriend plays it and their friends are playing it.  I play online games to play with my friends...online.  And my friends are all on WoW right now.

I'm not saying WoW is great, nor am I saying it sucks.  But what I've found is that I'm back because of my friends and I'm curious to hear others comments about being in the same spot as I am.

I think that's the main reason to play MMos, to play with friends and have fun.

  • Good luck but if it were me and that was the only reason I would go find a different hobby.  Like softball or something.

I know what you mean.  I got a few of my friends to play COV for a while, but it's only going to last until I give up and go back to WOW.  Damn Funcom for delaying AOC

You don't need to justify where you spend your money to the likes of us. Play, enjoy.

I don't play mmorpg's because my friends play it. If I wanna do that I can play any good RTS Game with a internet or LAN multiplayer modi. In fact, most people I know play either Ragnarök or WoW. I play a mmorpg because it has a persistent world and I can have a kinda "virtual" second life there. And that even means I play along peeps I don't even know. Getting to know other chars and all that stuff is the fun for me and most definetely not meeting up with the same peeps which I know out of rl and then just staying together and doing stuff together. But then, each to its own ^^. I kinda like to be adventures ;)

Been there, but I finally had to say SEEYA to my friends/guidmates.  I just cant play that game anymore, its just no longer fun for me. It was great for a while but I just dont like what they are doing with the game...I don't see any point in doing something you really dont want to do just because friends and family do. *shrug*

So now I  hope to make new friends in the upcomming games like TCOS, Huxley, and AOC. If those games do turn out to be good though, I will be logging back into WOW.. Only to convince a few of friends/guildmates to join me :P

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith
