AC was my first game I ever played. I think most first games are always remembered as being the BEST one out there. I really think AC is a great game though, PvP wasn't just click, hit, dead, you had to use skill as you could dodge bolts, or run from your enemies (which i did most of time ). There were just a bunch of things I liked about that game, and I was actually addicted to it, which means that I liked it. Once I remember waking up from a dream about AC () call me crazy!! lol

Pre UO:R is my all time favorite mmog and I think it always will be. Of all the mmogs i've played I can never find myself playing them 4 years straight like I did UO. It had all the necessary elements and was just plain fun. Then EA had to go in and f*** things up.
mmogs i've played besides UO: AC, AC2, E&B, EQ, Rubies of Eventide, The Sims (if you even call this a mmog), AO, DAoC, There, BioSphere, KO, Ragnorok, SWG, ToonTown, WWII Online.
out of all these...UO is still the best to me

This was a real close one for me. I played EQ for years and loved it, but Star Wars Galaxies has been so much fun, I have to vote for it. Since Ultima Online I have been looking for a MMORPG where a large population of roleplayers were part of it, and where it offered many opportunities for roleplaying instead of the leveling treadmill. I loved both, but good roleplaying wins out over the addictive gameplay of EQ anyday. I guess SWG wins more for the population of great roleplayers (in Kettemoor) than it's other game features. Although many of its features are what allows us to have fun roleplaying, so they kind of go together. (In EQ, it is harder to roleplay unless you are really dedicated to it, because time lost socializing and roleplaying, is time lost leveling). I am hoping Everquest 2 gets to the top of my list after it comes out.
(This space is reserved for ramadin to come flame me for voting for SWG . . . )
AC1 is my fav, and i've played it all, tons of those korean MMRPG's, as well as UO, EQ, DAoC, SWG, AO, E&B, Eve, L2, AC2.
Now second to AC1, I'd have to say EQ, why? Because its the only other one that kept my attention for at least 3 months, but, the downtime, repetitive leveling, losing a day or more on death, just pissed me off and had to quit.

EQ was good enough to keep my attention for 3 years, that says it all I think.

i hear ya [omegalet] i still think UO is the best due to the fact it was the first mmorpg i ever played
Blah blah blah......
Hmm maybe the crowd has changed a lot since mid last year.
A similar poll was done about twice last year and EQ and DAoC came neck to neck with a huge gap on the rest.
EQ won narrowly on both occasions.Suprising to see DAoC doing so madly atm but its early days yet.
