Well, there is Neocron. It's an MMORPG with a FPS feel in it, and quite a good one, in my opinion. It's more like transforming System Shock in a MMOG ;p
In my opinion, sure, First Person Shooting elements will increase action and excitement. Furthermore, it will stop the "Press attack button, watch TV, monster dead" routine of a few MMORPGs.
Currently playing: * City of Heroes: Deggial, Assault Rifle/Devices Blaster. Server: Defiant. * City of Villains: Snakeroot, Plant/Thorns Dominator. Server: Defiant.
FPS....In a way, rather with swords, and not a first person view. Maybe sort of street fighter style, with less of a 1v1 point of view. As in you could block at your leisure, which could do things such as damage your shield, and cause you to lose stamina, thus keeping somone from killing somebody that just perma blocks, and a mighty warrior would quickly stop that. As well as doing something as moving around, avoiding blows, etc. Would be interesting indeed.

It's rather fun, actually.....far more engaging than turn-based combat. Tends to even out "uber" weapons with a bit of skill....ie: 2 identically specced toons aren't neccessarily even, due to the fact that it really depends on the skill of the player to make the most of his set-up.
Hopefully we will see more in this move toward REAL interactivity.
Anyone ever play Weapon Lord for Super NES, back in teh day? That would be a good type of system for fantasy-styles FPS game.
Just curious but how does 'yes' or 'no' awnser that question?
Anyhow, the awnser is flop. I'm not saying that they won't have some subscribers but it would most likely just be enough to keep the game from going under, nothing ground breaking though. Planetside is a good example of this as it's far too repetitive and quickly losses it's appeal.

Yeah....Neocron, and soon Face of Mankind.
