Would you be willing to pay for a months sub (if not allready subed) to cast a vote on the which combat system to go forward with as long as SOE would go with the vote?

They won't get a dime from me unless and until they undue roll back all servers to November 14, 2005, admit they tried to defraud the player base, and compensate players for everyday the NGE was in existence. Then after six month of their continues repetence I might consider coming back.
Everyone complains how it was evil for SOE to screw the pre-cu subscribers over for NGE, which I agree with, but it's not evil to screw over the people who have only played NGE and are happy? A classic server is fine, if SOE chooses to do so. But to advocate doing to thousands of gamers the same thing you are angry about by rolling back all servers is hypocritical, IMHO.
Personally, I think SOE is starting to get back on track, adding skills and options from pre-cu as well as adding new stuff to make it better. They have admitted that it was wrong what they did, but the only option now is to go forward. build on what is there now, bring back the things THAT WORKED (pre-cu was no finished game) and make them better with new additions. Creature Handler, ranger, etc. can all be integrated into the current characters and probably will if people will simply try to move forward instead of staying stuck in a continuous looping groove of "pre-cu or end the game".
Because the more they add to and upgrade the current game, the more people new and old that subscribe. And there are more people subscribing and playing every week from what I can see ingame. This game does not need to be shut down, and no playerbase needs to be excluded, pre-cu/cu/ or NGE. Everyone just needs to see the others points and maybe try to work a compromise between new and old until everyone has a game they are happy with.
Also, everyone coming off at Stradden and the mods here, accusing them of being "forum nazis" need to look at themselves first. What is the typical answer on these forums when someone asks a question about gameplay in SWG? "Don't play it and there won't be a problem!". And then everyone else chimes in and the poster leaves. So by constantly bashing people for playing or wanting to play SWG, you are denying them the same thing you seem to think you are being denied: the freedom to talk about, and receive help with, their game. As well as running off potential members/contributers of this great site. Do you not think that these people can see the other countless threads on here about pre-cu and SOEs screw-ups? Just let them have the same right to praise their game as you do to bash it without cramming pre-cu down their throats with every post.
Ok, I'm done. I know most won't read half of this before responding or will just proclaim me a fanboy (which I'm not, hence the combining of pre-cu/NGE opinion). In any case, I just had to respond and maybe even make a little sense ( I really do sometimes, you know. Scary, ain't it).
They know what may work, rather it be consolidate servers, classic servers or change the pricing structure totaly something will be announced before xmass we'll see what happens, never say never is a very long time
Sounds like a great way for SOE to bleed a few more subs out while they do the vote, then they say that the results were overwhelming that the NGE was what the public wanted, so long as bug fixes were done carefully and expertise for professions and new content was added at a careful and methodical rate. (ie. meaning they only have 2 squirrels and a hedgehog in the dev team left who randomly crap on the coding keyboards so progress isn't too fast)

I understand the trust issue, but assume they would have a running tally that everyone could see and would be truthful.
The sub of the vets could be motivation for SOE to actually go forward with it. Possibly a large profit for little work. And unless you fear the NGE would actually win, whats $15 to get our game back (which could then be used to fund the project).
It would also get the people who normally wouldn't give the NGE a shot, to give it a try.
I didn't post this in the Refugee section cause I assumed it's a general idea, not meant to flame current. Feel free to move it if someone thinks other wise.
Actually, zorvan, I think trying to find that 'pure, untouched, and blissfully happy' NGE player is about as easy as finding an Iranian moderate.
Also, I think the mods just threw gas on a dieing fire.

We here at SOE and LEC swear on the grave of our past customers, that we would follow the outcome of this vote. By this we mean:
- Votes in favor of NGE: We would continue on improving and Star Warsifying the NGE.
- Votes in favor of the Koster Pre-CU vision and gameplay: We would develope tools that would enable us to roll back the servers with as little damage to the player characters and possessions as possible, and develope SWG Pre-CU following Kosters Vision to the letter. (Yes we would hire back Koster and other of the old sandbox developers we let go.
Be aware that this poll is public, as in by voting, your forum/station handle will be posted with your vote on this webpage: "htt........", allowing you and the rest of the community to see that we will not cheat on this.

I would in no way subscribe to vote, if they did not made sure that this time, they were dead serious and willing to bow down and admit mistake, apologize and promise to resign publically if they did not follow through.

With the new forums, General Discussion has become more
or less obsolete, so we're going to lock up the ability to create new
threads. You'll still be able to reply to current threads for the time
being, but we're looking to phase it out over time. So, feel free to
re-post topics in the new forums (appropriately, so long as they don't
break rules, etc etc etc.) I'd also like to get some of the threads
moved over to the new forum, so feel free to bump them by telling us
what forum you'd like to see them in. Obviously, we won't be able to do
this with all of the threads... there are a ton and it's not
possible... but well do what we can.

If SOE wanted honest results to such a poll, they would not charge for it. I'm not calling for a rollback butf classic servers. If NGE servers died as a result then so be it. To find out if classic servers would bring back vets, they should send out an email to all those who cancelled since NGE/CU and ask if they would come back.

agreed and the thing is atm there are more ppl subbing to this game now than since the nasty nge hit!
bria is a very active server with ppl starting to show up hanging out in naboos cantanas and when that starts happening ya know the populations going up lmao
as ive said b4 regardless of them being station access or normal subs it dont matter to soe or myself they want ppl using the access plan rather than normal subs and i dont care coz theres allways somone doing the quests im on and groupings good as of late
its not going anywhere..if they are keeeping mxo and ps swg aint going to die anytime soon now is it!

but im also not daft enough to think swg is going to get cancelled anytime soon!
so i carry on playing regardless as it still is more enjoyable than most of the other mmorpgs out there for myself atm..came back after an exile last month and enjoying the game again with auto aim and auto attack..BUT its still not pre nge but ill just have to cope with that

10 Months later, the only way is up from the bottom of the can so, this could be true.. in fact I would bet that they gain newer players each day at the cost of a old one.

Not that I care, but understand Bria was the first server, test server and always the most populated, so when others are low bria would have more... Now then, at one time there was on the avg of 300 people around the Naboo Cantina, a line to get your face done and people all over the place. -- Let me know when that happens again.

If your comparing the NGE to nothing then I guess anything could be good. If your comparing to the old game and population, you will lose every time. So once again, the one eyed man in the land of the blind could be king, yes.

You never know how things work, so far we have seen this game go downhill faster each time they changed the game. I would say they will start making things smaller or condense first.
But see here is the kicker, do you know that WoW has 193 Servers overseas alone? Did you know they add 5 - 10 servers in the STATES alone each two months due to the success? Did you know that combined servers and population has gone up in WoW? Now then, I am using WoW as a example of success, not failure. If the NGE was a success, you would know it, we would here it and people would reference articles, press and awards that say so. When in fact, there is nothing even close to that. SO before you start saying (It won't) die.. then my advice to you is make sure your product is a success before you think it will last forever. Common sense will kick in sooner or later with people and they will see the product for what it is.

I guess some people rather spend thier money different that's all, from making Jedi a free class, to taking out the profs, this version of the game is by all means not for everyone. I am more of a SIM, Combat type that expected SWG to stay that way. Not turn into giant circle targets, Force Polearms and Jedi running around free as a bird. But hey, the NGE is just raking in the success right? I mean all the comments made recently like "DO NOT MAKE OUR MISTAKES" from the SOE Execs, to Smedley calling the NGE as it is a "Mistake" --- see at that point I try to view the game as a product.. and investment of my time. My time has value and I base how I spend it on just that. When SOE calls thier product a mistake, I take that for some worth and agree that by all means my time is worth more then spending it on a "Mistake".

oh, the game will drag on i'm shure. at least untill swg2 launch date draws near, and they don't need you to play this screwed up game anymore.
personaly, if they don't do something to rectify the obvious blunder of the nge i will not be giving $oe my dollar for that game either.
