Why were we seperated?

in SWG Veteran Refuge

We are not children, and the discussions we had were well thought out and debated.

Have we not had enough taken away from us?

Open up the General Discussion again or rename it "The Rebellion". That was our home, away from home.  Make the fanbois move if they dont like it.

The truth is this one board creates a whole lot of traffic for this site.   Traffic which directly affects the amount this site charges for advertisements.   Being honest here.  We can find another board. 

I enjoyed the debates and there were just a few that got out of hand, and for that your reducing my ability to debate with pirrg and obraik.  

For Shame MMORPG.com... Fooooorrrrr Shaaaammmmmmmme...

    Actually strict moderation is stopping you from bring your current game discussion into this forum; or atleast it should be.  Personally, though, I think we should all be embracing these New Forum Enhancments.

    If you're still playing the game, that's definately current, and if you're still playing, you don't need refuge right? Hours don't matter, opinions and subscription status do.

    I hope the admins do mod these two new boards well.

    On a serious note I think the separation was more out of consideration to new posters than the "flame wars, trolling etc." in the SWG section of mmorpg.com

    We who post/read here day to day know what to expect (most times anyway) from eachother

    this is going to get ugly very soon... they litterally have made VETS vs NGEers (mmm NGEers need a lamer name than that)

    and i remember the SWG forum wars. bria was brutal!!! and then came the SOE statino threads.. something about to stop making forum wars else we will... (everything else is a blur from there on.)

    aherm ... i was simply making allusion that everything pre-Cu was better than what is curently in the NGE. was more of a joke than anything else...

    Why are NGE fans in my SWG Veteran Refuge?  Didn't the forum cops win their war to create a reservation to protect the sensitive and endangered?

    There were already rules against flaming and trolling.  I don't see the need.  I guess you win Maxanto; you and your ilk will ruin the internet just like your PC policing is ruining everything else.

    There are already special forums where you can not speak negatively about SOE or SWG.  IGN/VN and SOE.  Now MMORPG joins the gang for having a special place that is extra protected from opinions differing from that of one single side.  Alot of debate will be gone now, because each side has it's own forum.  I predict neither of these new forums combined will see as much traffic as the old one forum.  Which means less ad dollars for MMORPG is it is based on traffic.  Maybe SOE will make up the diff.

    I think it's funny that this is more exciting and iconic then the NGE itself, also I am willing to bet may have more people playing in it.

    Oh then you missed out on some great Tusken rifles from Hell and a Cdef Pistol doing like 600 damage lol.

    There was some NASTY doted ones too, real bad.  Those mind dot ones were just nasty.

    Ultimately, they (MMORPG.com) will have to patrol two forums instead of one.  I'm still uncertain where they perceived the flaming was so bad that they had to attempt to separate the two crowds.  The fix they have implemented doesn't appear to be designed for the problems they contend exist.  But, I respect the site for giving the Refugees a home and voice, so I'll give it a shot.

    Although, on another point, Obraik had a good observation - if I had a good game, I'd be there instead of posting here; hell, I'd never posted in any forum (including $OEs) until the NGE drove me from SWG. Looking forward the possibility of an announcement this weekend, may not have much need for posting in dividing fourms much longer.

    Yeah, I was about to say that anyone that didn't know about badass CDEFs must not have played the game much before the CU. There were a lot of those on Bria with some wicked mind ticks on them.

    I think that Obraik is just enjoying the painfully obvious double standard of these New Forum Enhancements.
