Daoc graphics

in Dark Age of Camelot



I keep seeing ppl saying that the graphics in daoc is dated, subpar
etc. I really dont get it, I think the graphics in daoc are great! Is
it me thats crazy, or are theese ppl stuck on the toa version, or
disgusted by the lack of sexy females in metal bikinis or something
perhaps? ;p

Tell me, is this really poor graphics? Also keep in mind im playing on a somewhat old computer, and the graphics aint set for max quality.

    Gotta agree with ya, finally got Darkness Rising and back in to the game and the graphics are still very impressive! I think people are looking for too much.

    I like the graphics myself and I'm not even up to par apparrantly.  I saw a screenshot a friend took and I noticed that pieces of armor like the shoulder pads were raised up and more 3D.  He's running a 250mb card like I am and I don't know what the difference is that's making armor flat on my screen.

    1.  People say it because they are looking at old graphics.

    2.  People say it because they have not played the game (or at least in a long time) and are just saying it because others have said it so it seems right.

    3.  People tend to not look at the detail of the game.  I mean in WoW they did a lot with low pixel count.  In DAOC it is very high pixel count and the amount of detail is amazing when you look closely.  The problem is that a lot of that detail is lost at a distance playing in 3rd person mode. 

    But generally speaking, currently DAOC is probably #2 or #3 for graphics.
