lvls 25-30: all 3 points into Magic Guard, even if you're planning on being a cleric, you'll need it if you want to take on a big bad boy like Crimson Barlog or lil ol' Jr. Barlog.
This is advice from a lvl 73 fire/poison mage lvl 90 solo priest.
sorry to tell you this but warriros are not the weekest class in fact they are the strongest in the long run sins and spearmen are the best two calsees in maple at lvl 110 so don't go saying the warriors are week
And as for a mage build it goes put into mp recovery at first then magic claw then magic claw and all extra goes into mp max

I've only ever used a warrior to start me off on different servers. I'd get to a good lvl like 30 on my warrior then I'd have enough money to buy MP Pots for my magician. It's really hard starting off with a mage because of the MP Pot costs. Warriors are almost free to fight with.
I think the reason Spearmen are a popular class is because 90% of hackers are spearmen because of the multi-attack skill and it's a long distance attack class

Mage 1st job:
level 8: 1 energy bolt
level 9-14: 3 MP recovery
level 15: 1 MP recovery, 2 magic claw
level 16-22: 3 magic claw
level 23-30: all on magic guard.
I'm pretty sure that's how it should go. If I'm off by alittle, then just max MP recovery first, then magic claw, then magic guard.
Ok, if you want the max amount of MP and kinda fast leveling for a mage, heres how it goes.
Stat wise: Mostly keep your luk 3 above your level, LUK=LVL+3 and pour the rest into INT.
Skill wise: Here comes the big list o dh00m!

lvl09: 3 MP recovery
lvl10: 2 MP recovery, 1 Improving max MP
lvl 11: 3 Improving max MP
lvl 12: 3 Improving max MP
lvl 13: 3 Improving max MP(now maxed)
lvl 14: 3 MP recovery, OR 1 magic claw and 2 MP recovery and alternate 2/1 1/2 until MP recovery is maxed.
lvl 15: same as lvl 14
lvl 16: same as lvl 15
lvl 17: 2 MP recovery, 1 magic claw(MP RECOVERY MAXED)
lvl 18: 3 magic claw
lvl 19: Same as lvl 18
lvl 20: Same as lvl 19
lvl 21: Same as lvl 20
lvl 22: Same as lvl 21
lvl 23: Same as lvl 22
lvl 24: 2 Magic Guard, 1 Magic Claw(maxed now)
lvls 25-30: all 3 points into Magic Guard, even if you're planning on being a cleric, you'll need it if you want to take on a big bad boy like Crimson Barlog or lil ol' Jr. Barlog.

DEX: 4
LUK: x2 your lvl (not including any LUK on weapons and armour)
INT: Everything else
Don't do what I did an put your points into HP and MP....it has wasted alot.
