When is this coming out? Also at the Austin show  the Devs said they would be leaving the pod at some point.

    The public testing phase should begin before the end of the month. After that I expect the normal four to six weeks of testing before release sometime late October or early November.

    CCP have been informing about releasing kali around mid september but as you should know big updates like this ALLWAYS never within deadline, so i would say end of octuber if we are lucky.

    I prefer to w8 a few more months and dont need to have all "bugs" when introducing a patch big as kali.

    But iam looking foward to see what CCP have planed for us with this new patch.

    As for "leaving the pods", the next issue of the EON Magazine is supposed to have a feature about planetary colonization and flight and possibly player avatars. Once I get it I'll make a summery post.

    there should be no "out of pod" experience

    are they going to change the whole back-story?

    this is what makes pod pilots special - once you choose this there is no going back

    I don't know how they could explain leaving the ship.  I saw a video that showed dev's flying in a planet's atmosphere, so that is coming.

    They are releasing kali in three steps though, not till april is the 3rd and final step (which is graphics updates).  Either april or till vista is out probably with DX10.

    out of pod experience

    CCP stated once "maybe" and I think the backstory grow as the game grows I still got the old box stating you shall be able to play solo lol

    We all know how that sounds for todays EvE Online
