I have heard on countless times that this game is vaporware. I don't believe it is after seeing their site and the screenshots and other things that prove that they put way to much work into this just to give up. However, I would like to know how many times they have set a Beta date and backed out of it, just to push it back again. The reason I ask is simple. I don't want to get my hopes up waiting for this game to come out. If they have a track record for pushing the Beta date back, I won't get my hopes up everytime they set a Beta date or timeframe.
Don't get me wrong, I am very excited for this game, but who wants their hopes crushed a few times a year waiting for the only game released or in development that is remotely worth playing.
Thank you.

Only backed out of beta date once, namely back in 2003, where they changed it to internal beta instead.
Other times people thought there would be beta, but this was pure speculation as nothing official was released to back up these rumors.

Lol @ Azure.
But really Darkfall was only officially going beta before Razorwax decided to join Adventurine and change the vision of Darkfall from another quickly produced MMO with little originality in the content to a revolutionary game instituting a broad spectrum of paths able to be taken by the player in a world of diplomacy and combat as well as great AI ideas for the content that have yet to be seen in any other games.
Simply put - once.
Fourth time is the charm
I dont count the first two as the game basicly went through a redevelopment like good old Horizons did. However atleast with DF it did not get turned into a totaly differnt game. But this last false beta announcment is a bit hard to take. They lost some serious face with that one.
Hrmm, also new but wonder if they're going to revamp the graphics, seem a little outdated to be for a new mmorpg.
I like that "old-schoolish" but with a fresh polish kind of look in games, not that plastic look like everyother new game coming out.

You are right. The graphics are not up to par with upcoming releases, but this game is also a lot different. This game will have the ability for full scale PvP battles. This game will also have player ran cities and things that will change from one moment to the next. It is very demanding on an engine. I know this, because SWG had the same problems. But at any rate, I would take the current graphics if this game delivers everything it said it is going to.
Hell it is actually worth the wait, since this is the closest game in its kind to release. Roma Victor was a flop. The Chronicle may never get released, not to mention the artwork is horrible. So that leaves us with Darkfall. Darkfall's lore is very deep and will provide a game worth our time and worth playing. But God I wish they would hurry up.
Hmm I follow the game pretty closely, I never saw any beta announcement for 2005. I am pretty sure I wouldn't have missed it...
They might have planned it internally, but never announced it, so I wouldn't say they backed out of beta in 2005. If you count that, you might as well count 2004 also, since I am pretty sure they planned it back then also.
