So the 9 profesion we have now is all anyone was playing yes?

But hang on didnt people complain everyone was tk Master(for the defence stacking) no wait they where Rifleman (cos of the mind shot) no wait they where all swords man (cos it was over powerd) no no they where all pikemen (for the dot weopons) no wait they where all docs (for the buffs)  No wait they all played pistoleer (pistoleer for the geo pistol an the stun) no there was to many combat medics (for the poisons) no no the all played fencer(for the stun baton)

What a strange picture is being painted here. Gasp it appears people might of actually been playing those professions we lost.

    How odd

I never played a CH, but was actually in the prosess to create one before the NGE hit. Many in my guild tough played a CH either as a master or just dabbled. I really regret now that i never made that CH char sooner

CH was where I had the most fun, in combination with MR, MC and BE. I still miss all my critters!

Funny thing is that creature handlers appered just as often in the movies as bounty hunters and medics

I think the difference is...  You can't say "suddenly everyone was" based on forum post.  If there was 500,000 users at some point or even just 300,000... does a couple thousand people posting on forums mean much?

I mean if everyone you see post here "did" play a CH.. overall it wouldn't be a large percentage of the overall player base.

Me and my GF ran 9 accounts...

My two mains were a bit into the game after they changed CH so you needed more skill boxes to do things

Master Smuggler / Master CH (I actually liked this)

Master Doc / Bio Engineer (went well together).

I had another character that was a Master Pike/TKA

and a fourth that was a crafter.

She ran 4 toons that were different profs and the 9th was the mayor of the city our PA had.. so we paid for it but a few people had access to it.

I certainly don't consider myself "everyone" but I played those right up to the CU... after CU I only played one account a bit and logged in a few times after the NGE.

Between my smuggler, ch and be I think I lost enough or was promised a lot I never got.  I also kind of find it interesting to have people try to tell me i never played the professions I did..

or that I didn't play UO from 97 till 2002... it was all my imagination I guess.

Or and UO:R or various other patches didn't ruin UO for me.  All my friends quitting due to the exploiters (just like happened in daoc) was what sucked.  Top that off with when they killed the volunteer teams... I was part of the interest team which was the only thing that kept me as long as I stayed.  I hung around a bit after that to get into 2002... and that was that.

I don't even feel like I see that many post where people claim to have been anything that the OP states.  In fact a lot of people I meet fully admit EQ or some later MMO was their first.

Well I was a well known BE on my server and I sold pets to alot of CH's, they loved their profession and I loved making their pets. I just cant understand to this day why SOE did what they did but ah well they suffering now because SWG is a freaking ghost town compared to old days and no pre-NGE fanboi can even deny that!

Amusing ... not in any way based on fact, but amusing.

MCH after the nerf that took away their overpowered PvP status very early in the pre-CU, stuck with it despite the "pre-nerf" that anticipated the Combat Revamp that never came and made them essentially useless in PvP until the final NGE goodbye.

Never ground out the "new" Specials they sadistically asked CH's to grind before taking the profession away, it just stunk of bait 'n switch corporate duplicity ... which turned out to be the case.

Enjoyed MCH in combination with Rifle or Pistol for most of my time in the game ... there were certainly fewer and fewer of us as the devs continued to ignore the major problems in the profession, but a LOT of people dabbled in CH.  I was selling mounts right up to the day I quit.

Yeah people found something they liked in all the profs. Then SOE would nerf one, and another professions uberness stood out, then another and another and so on till all of a suden every prof was so borked that they just revamped them, but not just once, twice y'all.

I have no idea what you are talking about.

Pre-CU, everyone had pets. There were lots of CHs but in addition to that, even after the pet nerfs, everyone I knew had at least one pet, and no, not always (in fact, rarely) a mount. Players liked having pets. This is true in most games. Why it remains a shocker to the devs of SWG, who then removed that stuff from the game, is constantly baffling to me.

I got a whole 2nd account to be a CH on my home server (Naritus), after trying it out and loving it on another server (Eclipse) but having 2 RP towns go belly up out from under me, and having nobody to play with on that other server. My main on Naritus was a Dancer/Carbineer with nowhere near enough points to get CH... so I got a 2nd account and played the CH a lot. I was regularly pestered by guild mates to train pets for them, or to go find them something "cute" or "fun" that was of the right level for them (i.e. lower than 14 or whatever the cap was at the time).

There were lots of scouts, lots of people who could harvest, lots of CHs. I saw them all over the place. So I simply don't agree with your assertion that the other classes that have not been included in the NGE were "never played." In fact the player love of CH was damn hardy, as it survived nerf after nerf, and massive bugs with one publish or another. The CU bugged up pets for weeks, and when they finally fixed them they totally changed how pets worked, and the CH profession still retained people until the day NGE was announced. Only then did the CHs finally die out in the galaxy.

Yeah...Everyone I knew had pets and I knew a few CH and grouped with plenty (remember grouping?).

CH used to be necessary if you wanted a cool mount or pet, now you just do a lame quest.

A lot of people used CH lines and weren't full CH also..Hell, I remember a Jedi/CH.

If you wanna bash a minority profession, pick Ranger preCU; CH was popular despite what you have "seen". I dabbled in ranger for a while, and I'll tell you that's where I believe the minority was. Partly because it took so many points to get ranger and you didn't get a whole heck of a lot out if you were big into fighting. I loved rangers, and they loved being rangers. We may have been the smallest population, but we sure as hell were the most fanatical about our profession.

QFE. Ranger was what i thought finding a Jedi would be like early on in the game. Props to all Rangers out there.

Was that even possible ? I just can't see the person having very much invested in either . Ch took quite a few Skill points to aquire as did jedi .

But I got all my pets from a Bioengineer I knew , There weren't many Ch's at all on our server .

Which server were you on? And no one had pets tamed/trained by CH?

I had a jedi/CH when the NGE hit.  Although I was very slowly adjusting my template at the time.
