Single word to best describe the NGE?

Im going with the "Horror"  with proper homage to Coppola.

    Here is a snippet of fiction using the first dozen suggestions:

    As Stalin trudged through the debris in Coronet, he could not help but muse about the horror that must have befallen this once magnificent starport. "Ugh.  The sheer mendacity of those lying thugs.  What an unethical bunch of lame fiends.  They promised to do what was right, to care for their people.  Instead, they have foolishly reduced their crown jewel to a pile of flaming poo!"

    He was right.  What kind of insanity could have prompted the rulers of the galaxy to make such a crap mistake?  Who was going to pay the monthly tax of 15 credits to keep their galaxy running?

    Agreed.  In actuality Stalin LOVES the NGE.  I hear his next 5 year plan is modeled after it's implementation.  "Bend Over Masses!  Here it comes!  "
