hmm, I allways thought the trial sucked. I hated that attempt at "content" in it.
I'm saying it is the best part of the game now. Not saying I enjoy the new game at all, which i don't.

I know what they are crowing about, 30k online, one server, still doesn't matter. It's not a lot of people as I pointed out. In DAoC's declining days (right now) they have that many people online. The fact that EvE has them all one one server doesn't change that fact.

Ofcourse I do, however that is a double standard. The first thing people complain about with an MMO, especially SWG is it lacks content.
If player made content is equal to developer made content then that complaint should never happen.

I would have to say that even an objective person at this point would have to recommend waiting until ALL professions have been extended with expertise, and crafters and entertainers revamped (this isn't even halfway finished at this point) before buying this game.
Until that is done at the very least you are buying a pig in a poke.

If it was a mount before the NGE regardless of the combat level it is now a functional mount again. It only works if they are a mount though.
That is inaccurate. I just read the last patch and he had nothing about this being fixed. I subbed about a month ago with what use to be my CH/BE and I could not call the mounts that I had that were above the level 10. They also gave me the option of converting my pets stats to make them inline with the game i.e. level 10. When I did this, the game said that they conversion did not work and they were unusable.

In fact i have mounts in my data pad that no one can use...they are mounts...but they are PRE-CU and so the level of them are over 10 (Creature handler mounts). So, either they nerfed all mounts to bellow a combat level of 10, or they simply removed the number of mounts you can have... Taking us back to...they removed content. So, they removed the ability to set mounts to custom commands and tricks.... and just left...mounts? So, out of about 50 (if not more because I think ALL mobs could be tamed) or so mobs that could be trained, they left about 6 because they were mounts? And the NGE = More content than Pre-CU or CU? The mind boggles.
I never said the NGE had more content then Post or Pre CU. Take that argument up with SOE and LEC, not me.
And as I have already stated, REGARDLESS of the pets level if it was a mount before the NGE in your datapad you CAN use it again as a MOUNT now.
The mount will have whatever commands you had set in it just as it always has in your datapad, those were never removed.
Pet attacking was removed last chapter, you can find that yourself in the publish notes.
New mounts may only be obtained via quest reward or buying ones from Pre-NGE.
And btw, how again exactly is a pet content? You can tell me all day long they have removed aspects of the game, or that they have reduced the game and I will agree with you. However I have never met a person before that considered a pet "content".
Pet's are content to the CREATURE HANDLERS and BE's. That is what they do. What you are saying is like a Jedi with out saber and the force. They are not Jedi. They are just some dude.

I basically only play for pvp and at the moment I think pvp is better and more balanced than it was when the CU was around. It is faster paced than the CU but not nearly the Benny Hill show it was when the NGE first arrived. Jedi is no longer an alpha class which pleases me to no end because I thought that was the major downfall of the game in the first place. Overall I got to say that my return has been fun and I was very unsure of returning in the first place and was only talked into it by some of my friends that were returning. My friends have also enjoyed their return and it seems that a lot of people are actually coming back to our server which is refreshing. I am not sure about other servers but I think from what I have seen in the last month of play time that our servers population is on the rise rather than the decline. Just calling it as I see it, I too hated the NGE when it came out and pretty much swore off SWG forever. I guess 8 months can change a lot though.
This above post is the truth about the game. I myself quit after NGE for 6 months and then returned. It has improved quite abit even since my return. But, anyone likes different things, some will like SWG and some wont and some will never give it a shot again. No one is saying the NGE ROCKED, it didnt, but the changes that have been made over the last 10 months have true made to game enjoyable IMHO.

This is truely the only regret I still have left about the NGE, the removal of the skills and proffessions. I agree 100% taming a creature was great content, BE tissue production was and is needed. If this is the reason that a player left, then, sadly, they are still out of luck.
But with the return of the ability to call all pets, and the fact they still have their tricks, can only be a step in the right direction. Until those things returned, there would be truely no hope of CH's ever returning, IMHO.

It's been nine months since I cancelled my accounts and most of my anger over the NGE has dissipated so I thought I would check out what SWG is like now days. The player population appears quite low but I have to agree that they have fixed a number of things that caused me to leave. Think I'll give it a shot for a few more weeks and see if some of the old excitement I felt in playing SWG comes back.

I left pre-cu as did all of my guild-mates. I swore I'd never come back, but a couple of our guildies re-sub'd and said it was fun, and I was bored w/ WoW so I gave it a try and IMO, it's a huge improvement over pre-cu and Jedi are no longer an uber class above all else, but much more balanced with the rest of the classes. I too have seen alot of the things fixed that caused me to leave in the first place. There are now 20+ people from our guild that have re-sub'd, we've built a new city on Tat and everyone is having a great time. Did a PvP battle the other night w/ 30 rebs and 30 imps that went on for hours, It was great fun and reminded me of the old days in Theed w/ massive PvP battles (but no poison chuckers, yeah!!)

QFE on the PVP. Restuss is becoming a madhouse after a slow down over the last month. I guess everyone wants that new promotion, heh. I have seen more Imps battle in Restuss over the last 3 days then I have seen in a month out there. Definitely making for some mad battles.
"If we don't attack them, they will attack us first. So we'd better retaliate before they have a chance to strike"
No offense, but the trial offered does not even reflect the gameplay. It is limited to a space station that does not even exist in the real game. The trial is useless as a tool to judge this game.

Until those things returned, there would be truely no hope of CH's ever returning, IMHO.
the truth is, you have to try it for yourself. if you enjoy a "wowish" game, you might like it. but be prepared for a small playerbase.
the trial might help you to decide, but remember it ends at the starter spacestation, and
many of the problems people mention are well after that.
but hey, give it a shot.
