Trial Version Help!

in City of Heroes

Hello, I'm just wondering if this game offers a free trial/download so that I may preview this game? I have heard mixed reviews and want to see for myself before deciding if I should spend money on it or not. My experience so far with NCsoft has been pretty good, they're a company I don't mind buying products from.

Maybe you can weigh my backround and maybe see, just by my words, if this game would be of any interest. I played UO, SWG, EQ2, WoW, FFXI, tried EVE for a short while. UO and SWG were great until they changed and I left. WoW got so ridiculously boring that I couldn't stand being entirely dependent on gear. I didn't have the time to play FFXI as so much is needed to get anywhere. And for some reason EVE bores me out of my mind! I have never been more bored playing a tutorial as I did on EVE. Anyway, I like games that offer PvP, consensual or not, I don't care anymore. I like customizability, as well as people looking different from one another. I like animations to be pretty cool looking, as it gives me a whole lot more interest to play. I also like progression, seeing myself get stronger, or change in appearance.

So that's my history in a nutshell. Now is there a way I can get a free trial/download on this game?

All help is appreciated, thank you in advance. Forgive my spell errors. I am typing this a little too quickly.

    Is a trial not readily available? I'm dying for a new game, but have lost too much money blindly buying MMOs. (EQ2 & RFO for example) Save me!

    No.

    NCSoft is for some reason deadly scared of free trials because "it gives the wrong impression of the game"; in regards to why there isnt a Lineage 2 trial.
    Right now only when you buy a game do you get 14 day (14d/10 hours for GW) trial keys to other NCSoft games.

    Yeah there are just the 14 day trials packaged with other products right now. I litterally just gave out my last one the other day or I would have PMed it to you. Mabye a kind soul will do that for you here. Otherwise if you check out another set of forums like gameamp or a place like that and ask nicely if someone has a trial key left over, you might be able to get someone to send you one to give it a try.

    I might be mis-remembering or confusing it with another game, but I thought I saw a City of Heroes trial on one of the discs that come with my PC Gamer mag.

    No worries, I realized that there wasn't a trial after I read further in. So that led me to become impatient and I went ahead and just bought the game. It was only 9 dollars at CompUSA so I picked it up. Thanks for all the help though :)
