I wasnt really sure if this would be the best topic too post this up at but since this is the beta i decided that
most of u should have an idea of what games are too come. Well after playing swg since beta its not what it
usto be and of course as most swg players, i have been swaping from swg too wow... etc. and i was
wondering what game u guys think will be the next SWG or WOW i want too start playing a game from beta
Being that i started swg from the begining and its been a great game i would like too do the same with
another one but i just havent been able too find any real good ones. If any of u can comment on what new
good release are coming up plz let me know. Any help would be great. thx and have a great day.

Probably WAR because it's being made by Mythic. Mythic made DaoC. People liked DaoC's RvR. It has the Warhammer tag. So it'll go down well. Despite EA being there.
My hopes lie elsewhere though.....but I will play WAR beta if the chance arises.

lol No doubt! I haven't played Vanguard, but I have fairly low hopes for it. I expect something more than set classes and raiding.
If there is an open beta or a demo I can get in on, I'll give it an honest try. I can't see myself buying it to try it though. It looks way better than all the should-be-F2P games coming out (*cough*Archlord*cough*), but I'm just tired of the same old shallow MMORPG.
Spin it how they might close to release time...
What game will be the next SWG or WOW? That's like saying what game will be the next "miss" or hit".
Well, any of them, hehe.
next big thing? WoW is and will stay the big thing, but if there is any, I put my money on Age of Conan. War doesn't seem to be intresting, not to mention DaoC was garbage.
Whilst I agree Vanguard will not be the next big thing (Sigil have already said the game won't appeal to everyone), Vanguard is not an EQ1 clone.
If you took the time to look at the game forums or FAQs you will realise its a lot more than a clone and they have admitted their mistakes in EQ1 and made Vanguard so much more than EQ1 ever offered.
I think from a sales perspective WoW will remain top for a while to come, from a great game perspective Vanguard will be top.
Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS)
Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve
I hope that no MMORPGs will ever be like SWG/WoW.
edit* p.s. vanguard will be a flop, it's already dropping in hype now that more has been released about it. maybe it will be the next WoW.

Text and feature list don't tell me anything about the game. I look at the gameplay video's. sure there might be improvements over Everquest 1 (which is the least they could do) but gameplay is EXACTLY the same. Vanguard would be the top 5 years ago, but not today. we have seen Everquest by now.
You Sir, are a moron.
SWG PreCU was advanced for it's time, and there will NEVER be anything close SWG preCU.

Do not hate it, but instead embrace the diversity.
......
Good luck to Warhammer. Looks like it will be a fun game if they do a good job ignoring the EA reps.
Warhammer online
But I'm still waiting for a game like SWG (b4 the patch ofc.)
I played
SWG
Anarchy online
COH (beta)
EVE
Everquest 2
Guild Wars
Ryzom (beta)
WOW
Archlord (beta)
Well doing the same thing the op did along with playing, COH, COV, FFXI, Guild Wars, and too many more too list
All in an attempt to find something that had the same challenge in not only game play but mathamatical statistics nothing compares to pre-cu swg just due to the massive number of combanations you could make to your pvp toon.
however one I beta'ed is the closest I found so far for the PvP style and is not released yet and believe it or not it was Cabal online.
I was a 34 warrior and accidenttly accepted a duel from a 44 defender, I expected to die of course but...
We started dueling and the duel lasted almost the entire time limit of the dual and he never killed me. It was quite a long dual I think it's either a 15 minute or 10 minute time limit can't remember off hand. But he was using potions and I never had any at the time and he actually ran out of potions still hadn't killed me and stopped dueling because of it saying he was out of potions and was done.
Why did I last so long? Because it's simular to Pre-Cu swg where you upped certain skills. I had upped my sword skills a long ways above what was normal for my level at least that's what he said I had no idea what I should have been at with my sword skills but I was very easily able to dominate in PvP within my level. That's the closest I could find to SWG.
The combat is simular to NGE/wow but at the same time gave it a good blend of delay's on swinging although it doesn't feel that way extending PvP time and giving plenty of time to launch your next special. Rumor was level cap was 175 but I'm not sure I just know I had alot of fun with it and 1:1 wasn't like a 30 sec. fight it could be alot longer depending on how many potions you and you opponet had.
The starting complaints I had about the game was the camera angle was set in such a way you couldn't see the sky however I was told around level 100 you can change that as a reward or something. Of course it was a point and click to move. At first I didn't like that at all but after playing it a couple days it became easier to play that way. However good point was you need to use the mouse during combat and the keyboard I soo realized I was able to attack and respond to attacks alot quicker because of this and realised a wasd set up would have gimped me.
If it get's released in the US I will be playing that for sure.
Personally I think The Chronicles of Spellborn will do well, TCOS is looking great and with all the ideas in it, it should go EVE's way I'm thinking, steady slow growth with a loyal fan base
Of course there might be an explosion of people that knocks WoW off the top spot :P
