these stupid animated movies that have come in a trend since Toy Story, but have intensified since finding nemo.

I mean for christs sake isn't it time we did things with animation besides make unoriginal, cookie cutter movies about animals....... all be it some of them are funny but its getting ridiculous.

why not a really cool action movie with CGI, or horror or anything.

but with this new damn penguins movie called "feet" or something like that im getting sick of them.

Mostly because i have been forced to see every god damn one....

    I liked:
    Toy Story
    Finding Nemo
    Shrek
    A Shark's Tale

Toy Story 2, Shrek 2, and all the other ones I hated. Expecially chicken little and Madagascar. I really can't see why people thought Madagascar was so funny, I just thought it was dumb.

    You talking about America, right?

Because, there are tons of Japanese CGI movies that are horror and action. Some of which are fused with anime.

This siggy is CGI that my cousin made in 4 hours.

What do you think happened to all the Disney style movies that got made, like Alice in Wonderland and Sleeping Beauty and Snow White.

This is the exact same thing, just done with computers instead of pencils.

there all in the same style of story telling but disney movies were more varied.

they went from things like beauty and the beast with inanimate objects, to traditional type knight myths like sleeping beauty and snow white, to things like aladin.

more varied then every god damn movie being about animals........

What's wrong with animals? :/ You're an animal.

In fact, because we're all animals. EVERY movie is about animals. :D Nice thought ain't it?

I'm and "elder" teenager ( 17 :D ) and in a way I agree with you though. I'm not really into seeing cutey movies like that all the time.

But think about it. When I was younger, we had the bloody power rangers and all those cute little animal love love care bears and my little pony stuff going on.

The only difference now is that we've gone a long way in digital art. By the gods, those movies are amazing compared to what we had 10 years ago!

I suppose what Im trying to say is, it will always be like this. Little kids need cute animals and cute movies. We grew up with it, why not them?

Besides, Eragon comes out December 15th. :d Wait till than for a fantasy/adventure/action movie that doesn't have any fluffy "care bears" and "ponies" in it. XD

because they make money...if they weren't making money, they wouldn't be making the movies...little kids eat that stuff up.  Nobody is forcing you to see the movie, and if the commercial annoys you to the point that you feel the need to post about it here, then I suggest you find more important things to get passionate about :)

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

First off, I would just like to mention that Pixar fucking owns your soul.

Still, on the action front, there's always the Roughnecks (which is a series, not a feature length, but still.)

Then there's Polar Express, which... isn't about animals, at least. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within was good, as was Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children and many other Asian titles that you will probably never see because you're an ignorant american.

But honestly, the stuff is still considered animation or cartoons by the general populace of America. That's why it's still targeted towards children. Like Draenor said, no one is forcing you to see it, and if they are then that's your problem.

Personally, I like most of 'em.

Listen Asmodeeus, seven years ago, Ultima Online didn't even have those pathetic "quests" that you refer to or those "professions" of ninja, samurai, necromancer, and paladin. Nor did it have any of the neon crap, or bug mounts. It didn't even have any "combat moves." You turned on attack and jousted with simplistic swings. It was a better game then. if you can't guess why then just uninstall the thing and move along. - Crabby

they're funny, very funny, and if you hate them just simply don't watch them

theres one about baseball out right now, not animals.

they come out because believe it or not, people have kids, and there really isnt much to do with young kids. so go to the movies alot.
i relize shrek and maybe osme others appeal to older audience as well, but most of them are mainly for kids.

i mean look, you can go buy some fisher price toys like the one where you put the stuffed rings on the cone, or pull the lever and the animal that the arrow points to makes a noicse, and they cry they aren't challenging enough games for you...but they aren't made for you.

  • BlurrBlurr Member UncommonPosts: 2,155

That's the whole point is that they're for kids.

Yeah Disney stories were different and they were based on old fables but guess what, they ran out of stories to tell.

Kids like talking animals. Animals are also easier to do in CG, atleast moreso than humans. When you do a human in CG it looks a little 'off' and is less silly. They can have silly looking animals that are still believable.

Atleast be grateful that they add in some adult jokes to the movies for the parents.

I don’t think you can do much with animated movies other than "kids" films horror would not work within an animated setting the whole point of a horror is the suspension of disbelief and could you really do that for a cartoon?

Tin Foil hats dont work.. its all a conspiracy

well, you seem to be missing out some great non-animal animated movies like The Incredibles, Robots and Cars and Hoodwinked (yes there are some animals, but not all the chars are).

I especially enjoyed Hoodwinked because of the actor who voiced the wolf, its a guy called Patrick Warburton, who is better known as The Tick or Brock Samson from the Venture Brothers (the best cartoon in existence in my twisted opinon)

I'm sick of them aswell. Though, I did enjoy Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. They film had some crazy visuals and the music was incredible. I wish we had more films like those. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within wasn't bad either if you really listen to the storyline.

Toy Story was a classic. I find Finding Nemo annoying. The most stupidiest one ever is the one with the talking MALE cow that has UTTERS.  Toy Story had a lesson and moral behind it. A lot of these animations these days are just there to make you laugh and not teach you anything. They attack what is popular these days such as monsters, cars, toys, fish, etc. I gotten a little sick of them too.

I personnally enjoy most of these movies (though I do retain a bit of a child's heart). But money always leads the way and we can only hope and pray imagination and inginuity can stay somewhere in there.

I think it's the objective of your past self to make you cringe.
