      I don't have Horizons but I sure hope that they drastically improved the game if they think this will work.  What's the point of giving free trials if you have nothing new to offer ?

    Wow, I wish I didn't buy into that 7 day free trial crap.

    It's basically set to charge your credit card if you don't cancel before the 7 days are up. I thought no biggie but apparently you have to actually CALL them to cancel and answer a bunch of reasons why you don't like it; plus you need to validate you own the account. Just more annoying stuff to deal with I guess.

    Well, I downloaded the whole lot, and when I tried to create an account, a flame-red sentence which ran like "CD-Key is incorrect" burnt my soul with disappointment.

    Any suggestion?

    Make sure if you copy and pasted the CD Key that you haven't got a space at the end. I know it sounds stupid but it happened to me with the DAOC trial lol.

    i get the same error msg when trying to create a trial account

    Errors occured validating your account information:

    • In field CD Key: Your CD-Key is invalid

    blah!

    anyone got pass this or did you just gave up? :)

    I had no problems when starting my free trial...hmm, I'll look into it but I think you must be doing something wrong on your end...

    check out the link.. they don't charge you unless you buy the game and update you trial key to a real one :)

    found out now that the reason i cant get it to work is that i live in europe (sweden) trial is unly for US.. on the other hand.. i spoked to a dude who is playing it from sweden, looks like they have no ip check on the servers so you can.. ummm type in you US adress ;) did'nt bother to do it though, waiting a couple of months till they fix more buggs and get more content in it. looks like an awsome game though.

    Well, I tried again to activate the trial account on Wednesday (I had not read flaerp's post about european not being able to take advantage of the trial offer): I clicked on the shortcut on the start menu with hardly any hope of success, but, surprise!, I saw a new smiling brown page instead of the frowning prussian blu I was used to; a shining red link caught my eyes, and I found myself ready to insert all the datas they asked.

    But deeming a wiser move to wait till Saturday (that is, today) to activate the account, so that I could make a better use of the short time I would had to probe this game, I bookmarked the page and went to bed happily, tasting in the anticipation of desire my future brand-new-MMORPG fun.

    Then, an hour and a half ago, I read flaerp's post, jumped to the page I bookmarked and filled all the forms, thus giving my... uhm... U.S. address and my Credit Card Number.

    And now I find out I can't play, because they make an i.p. check on the login page (which amazingly came back to the frowning prussian blu style), and my account seems to be on the U.S. servers.

    I am interested to try the game. I heard how horrible it is. Have downloaded it and will try after work. Will be interesting....but free.

    I downloaded the free trial the other night...installed lastnight. Encountered no problem with download, install, or registration.

    Though, did take forever to install. ::::35::

    One thing I found annoying was the registration and log in window via the web browser. Did we run out of time to actually code as part of client? Plus, I makes me use MSIE; I hate MSIE. I hope there is a way to change that.

    Ok so i did the free trial....

    Loading takes forever, and im on a fast machine, the game's grafx look like an EQ expansion, now dont get me wrong grafx dont make the game, hell, I still play UO. But for something thats 2 months old... come on.
    Additionally, they are choppy, and my card lags, I've played games with much better grafx, i.e. SW:KOTR, Ryzom, and no choppiness there.

    The quests are mundane, kill this make this, nothing new, nothing exciting, the story is mediocre. The interface is overly complex, you can do with much less strife and achieve the same goals.

    The one redeeming quality of this game is the music, it really changes the mood of the game and gets you listening. Otherwise, it's a waste of code, right up there with SB.

    Too bad though, becasue David Allen had a really good concept when HZ first came 'round.

    I find it surprising that people actually input their credit card #'s without actually reading things first.......The only way that it would charge your card is if you bought a boxed copy of the game, it says it when you sign up for the trial and when you log in to the horizons home page under 7 Day Trial FAQ's

    i already downloaded this 7 day free trial eu version, but i cant register... it always says that password is invalid,min lenght 7 characters... i have putted 100 characters and still doesnt work...::::37::
