While this patch was pitiful....at least it has given me a few minutes of enjoyment. I knew that the patch would be a failure, but I really didn't think it would be this bad...
I have NO compassion for anyone trying to play this game now. If you have not bailed by now please give me a PM because I have items I would like to sell you....
DnL was a disaster back before SoG. I was so glad to get my money back once I saw the crap of SoG. They took what could have been a great game and made it into nothing.
Indira's confirmation of the "ALI" bug resurfacing has inspired the ole brainbox to ruminate again. I've noticed other bugs resurfacing in dnl. These are questions that only a developer maybe able to answer. Afterall, the last time I created a program on a computer was with a Commodore 64 or an Apple IIE.
1) How does a bug resurface in a program after it has been patched? Okay, the ALI bug has reappeared. How? I would think that the devs of dnl would go to the source of the problem and correct it. I.E. the corrupted data that "is" the ALI bug.
2) If they did not go to the source and correct it what did they do? Did they write a subroutine to bypass the faulty data?
3) And if they did write a subroutine to bypass the faulty data how did it resurface now? Was it deleted by another dev by mistake who thought it was conflicting with another part of the game?
4) And if the devs are writing subroutines to correct bugs instead of repairing the corrupted data files would that not slow down the game...as has been reported? Is that not lazy programming???
5) Also, would this all be possible due to lack of communication between devs. would that explain old bugs resurfacing and new ones being created with every patch??? (This is assuming, of course, that they are writing subroutines to bypass faulty data instead of repairing it.)
I may be way off base here. Like I said. My programming experience is limited to old apples and ancient commodores.
Played Wow, D and L, AOC, GW, Eve, Rift and many more insignificant games.
These two quotes from a thread on the offical forums titled: I bought the game 5 days ago and haven't once been able to log in.
I hate to say this but anyone who totally ignores everything written about this game in its own forums, and buys the game anyway deserves to lose the money.
Here is some advice......... If you are thinking of purchasing a game go to its comunity forums. If every single thread is about people saying goodbye to the worst game ever, or that they are bugged and cant log in, or the company is a bunch of thieves, save your money.
I am amazed at how someone could see that every review and every thread and every post everything written about this game says it is terrible and say to themselves "well the world must be exagerating it cant be that bad".

What, neat someone bought this game even after repeated and vociferous warnings from detractors and fans alike. Thats special, I wish you all the happiness that detatchment from reality and your fellow man can bring.
Seriously, you didn't heed the warnings about the game you certinly didn't heed the warnings about the refund woes. What makes you think comming here seeking answers is going to help? And no we wont feel sorry for you.
I do have an answer to your problem. Your screwed. Welcome to DnL.
lol I was one of the community members over at DnL before the SoG crash-and-burn... This thread has given me a good laugh. I'm now glad they "screwed" long term community members with a 30 second, site lagged "beta" sign-up! Think of the horors I would have seen had I had a chance to "play" this "game". lol I had a friend who got in, he never played DnL because it just crashed on him...over and over and over.

That seems to be happening now more than ever. Crashes, ALI and dissconnects all over the place. Alot of it is the graphic cards people are running. "Modern" graphic cards that is. Tells everyone what a horses**t piece of crap this game is when they can't optimize for even the most modern graphix cards!

Actually I'm voting for:
6) The developers of DnL are dumber than rocks.
Let's see...devs join npcube to create software=business opportunity.
Farlan backs Npcube to create DnL=business opportunity.
Npcube devs don't know how to dev=stupidity.
Farlan doesn't know how to run a business=stupidity.
Devs create horrible game called DnL=stupidity x2.
Devs stay with Npcube and help to make worst mmo game ever even worse!=stupidity x10.
Devs don't leave when it is obvious that game is a pathetic piece of fly ridden manure!=dumber than rocks...
Yes, your calculations were correct Indira.....dumber than rocks!!!LOL
