Recurring Dreams...

Darkknight35Darkknight35 Member UncommonPosts: 126
Hey everyone! I thought i'd share some of my recurring dream experiences.

here is my background: I am a college student, and i'm usually under a lot of stress with exams and work. I do take     time off to enjoy myself to relieve this stress, and generally life is  pretty good.

here is my recurring dream that i have been having for the past couple weeks: Any any given point in my dream, i am    atacked by a dog. Throughout its attack it tries to bight my face continually, and all i can do is hold it back with my    bare hands and try to beat the thing senseless to get it to leave me alone. This usually happens at random, and i       could  be dreaming of just about anything before it happens. The attacker is always a dog for some reason.

Now i love animals, and i own two dogs back at home. These dreams really perplex me, and i would like to know what you guys think the problem might be, or the meaning of this recurring dream. Also what can be done to get this recurring dream to stop?

have a good day!

LOL Gameloading, nice.  It is obvious you suspect your dogs of secretly plotting your death. You would be wise to get rid of them.

Dogs are known as loyal animals.

Dogs turning on you in your dream means a betrayal by a loyal friend.  If the dog is big its a close friend.  If the dog manages to actually bite you in your dream then the betrayal will hurt.

What if the dog attacks you and you rip it in half like a phone book ? Cause I have dreams like that ocasionally ? I'm insane u know .

OMG! 999th post!! Even cooler than 1000th :P

But yeah, if you believe dreams prophesise then that's accurate. Alternatively, if you believe they reflect self, then it's not that you WILL be betrayed by a loyal friend, but rather than you're scared you will be. The fact that it constantly tries to bite your face could be taken to mean that you're afraid this friend will try to damage your standing/other's opinions of you.

You can try talking to your loyal friends (if you're honest with yourself, you might even be able to work out exactly which friend it is you're scared of) and reassuring yourself of those relationships' strengths and that may help you to move on from the dream.

My current recurring dream is that I fall asleep at the wheel while driving to see my girlfriend, and begin to dream inside the sleep that I'm in in the dream (if that makes sense). That dream consists of me continuing to drive, but slowly all of the cars I pass become (dont laugh at me) flintstone's cars, being driven by a variety of small dinosaurs and try to run me off the road. I quickly realise I've fallen asleep, and then panic that I've fallen asleep at the wheel. I wake up (within the dream) and all I can see is this bright white that burns my eyes and all I can feel is my limbs searing in pain, until eventually that pain makes me scrunch my eyes up to try and stop the white light burning my eyes and I wake up (generally sweating lots and screaming). Analyse that one.

You're afraid to hurt one of your close friends probably.

I had the same kinda dream except rather than ripping the dog in half, I karate chopped it's chest and it had this huge sharp dent in it... Like this(the dog's chest is the top line, and it's spine is the bottom line):

    --------------__            __-----------------

                      |         |

                      |         |

                       |____|

    ---------------------------------------------------

    Weird eh.

your family is being represented by the dogs, and their going to start getting seperate and attack you if you dont get closer to them because you are away at college.

so call your family and reconnevt with them

Your dream only means what you make it to be.  Don't try to analyze it according to the psychoanalytical nonsense of that cocaine sniffing, psychotic, bumbling idiot Freud.

My mum can do things like that... She'll wake up crying and 10 minutes later there'll be a phone call saying one of her parents has been omitted to hospital or something - it's happened in every major family emergency we've had.

I often dream of watching my friends die, or being forced to kill them... That's a fun dream to wake up from...

I'm pissed at Freud because of my last psych class (Sleep and Dreams).  My professor was a Freudian and based his grades on such.

Plus, not everything is related to sex or body parts according to Freud/ image

Didn't he also say that every man wants to sleep with his mother? I don't know shit about the guy but that was enough to make me think he was a quack image.
