Thinking about Starting EQ2.. PVP question

DeathrenDeathren Member Posts: 10

I started back in the day with UO and have done everything else  DOAC, WOW, AoC but for some reason, never got into EQ. I have been bored with WOW lately and I am just looking for a change. I might play for a couple of hours every other day, just to give you an idea.

I like to solo alot and PVP and Craft. I have a job and a family so, raiding is not a big option.

I'd like some "player" advice on PVP, craftinging and Soloing in EQ2. Thank you for any help.

the only advice I can give to a casual gamer who is interested in EQ2 PvP is that, a solo PvP'r in EQ2 wears a huge red bulls eye.

meaning, you'll be attacked by everyone able to attack you.  crafting solo will be difficult, due to harvesting in neutral areas.  Solo PvP is extremely challenging, and can be extremely frustrating in EQ2

if you cut PvP out of the equation, then you wont have a problem solo playing on the PvE servers. crafting is not as demanding as it used to be, but I suggest crafting only to make yourself more self sufficient.  its not going to be a great money maker.  It "can" be, but you'll find you can make more coin from adventuring then crafting until you get up into higher tiers.

Crafting in EQ2 is the only crafting system I ever enjoyed.

EQ2 is not a PvP focused game in any way so you'll probably get frustrated fairly quickly if that's what you're looking for.

I love to craft in EQ2. It's the only game I've been in where I enjoyed it. It's a wonderful break from adventuring.

    EQ2 is solo friendly.

If you're used to WoW, you might find this game a bit of a shock. After level 10, it takes alot longer to level. Personally, I find that part of the fun but it may not be your cup of tea.

Are you kidding??? PVP in EQ2 is amazing, actually I think its a complete different game. How many games have you heard a tank can taunt a player locking him target so a dps class can burn the other down? .. I can only say that 99% of EQ2 players that try out pvp, never went back to blue servers (nornal servers).
