i cant see soe doing a rollback

I cant see soe doing a rollback, too many people would be screaming i didnt get my adk i had or what happened to my uber t21 i know i had one, wheres my super resources i had stockpiled before i quit!!!.

however a clean server with pre-cu or cu would be possible, if soe ever takes off there rose colored glasses.

    The most likely scenario would be taking the 5 least populated servers,  letting those people who still like NGE transfer to NGE servers with all their stuff for free,  then converting those servers to Classic with a complete wipe of what was there.

    Then letting people populate these servers with new characters and clean slates.  That is the only way they could make it happen.

    And I don't see it happening to be honest...

    Only way I would go back is if they rollback to the day before the NGE. Or clean new pre-cu/cu servers. Also no player transfers, everone starts from scratch and jedi must certainly have perma death.

    I certainly wont go back to anything that has any trace of the NGE near it.

    Added bonus would be a smedley miniature instead of an R-2 miniature in my data pad, the smedley one will say Im sorry for the NGE when you use the radial option of "Start apology" and he then kicks himself in the the nuts somehow and rolls on the floor for a while in pain and shame of what he did to 200k+ loyal customers.

    The problem as I see it would be client side. You would be forced to choose NGE or SWG. You would have to install two different copeis of a game with the same name and file paths on your computer or choose a version. SOE doesn't want you to choose between Classic and NGE, they know who would win out. They could offer classic as another game in another SOE folder. That brings up legal issues of copyright that may not make sense but are the reality of corporations like LAE and SOE. The point is, client side where they have nbo control is going to be the big short fall of two formats of the same thing, if in name only.

    Yes but it was 2 games. You couldn't log in to a Bria toon from the test center version. I had test center, it was installed in a test center folder and anther game in addition to SWG. The login client was the same, it is station and you could use it to get to either version but it would still require 2 versions of the same game. TC was proof that it could be done, it also points out what I was saying. They needed two versions of the same game.

    How would that be different from what returning Vets say now, or we all said at the launch of the CU or NGE. It's obvious SOE doesn't share your concern based on their previous actions.

    I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!

    I would prefer a pre-cu server myself, but from watching the boards here and others, it seems some are screaming for a rollback to nov 14 05 with all the goodies intact, nearly a impossiblity,others willing to do a clean sweep of servers to start over, a distinct possibility if they could get soe and la to agree. And finally the one who just want to be uber in a kiddies world ie nge.

    If you cant even get a major portion to agree on what they want in a pre-cu/cu server, how can you convince soe or la its worth the effort to do it?

    I had a jedi i worked hard to get, and yes i would drop it to get in a precu/cu server.

    Yep, all vieled threats and omens of impending doom aside. Just saying I would like Classic servers because. We don't know what they plan to do. Looking at the failure of Planetside and Matrix, SWG won't be dead and on a shelf. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. We are mushrooms. Kept in the dark and fed shit and we will be the last to know.

    SOE doesn't have to pay anyone $10 million just for the right to use
    the Planetside or Matrix names.  That is the main reason SWG is
    the primary candidate for the first SOE game to be closed.  When
    the current deal ends, they won't be renegotiating it.

    I'm with the pessimists on this one. There will be no rollback. They will continue their very half-hearted attempt to phase back in parts of pre-NGE in a lame attempt to get back some of the original base. That's as good as it will get from SOE. 

    When the deal with LA runs out these servers will be down immediately.
