suggestion: boredom reference system :)

the biggest problem i see in this forum is:

game x sucks sucks sucks... totally boring i quit after 1 week... no content no fun no poop

game x rocks rocks rocks... i have been playing for a year and still loving it...

most likely the problem is not with the game, its with the players, there are people who get tired of stuff FAST, they take five days to figure out a whole game, then they feel bored, and there are ppl who can mine and mine and camp and camp and find fun in mundane activities... and of course there are people who are just dumb, they don't try to find out about how to do stuff the fast, efficient, fun way, they try to amass great fortunes by killing low level monsters, insisting on creating unique, individualistic characters who can't do crap, is poor as hell, has the worst equipment, and then blame other people fore being mean, cheaters, etc...

so please people in the future i would suggest that when you say "x is fun" you include a reference like "game x is fun for me, i have been playing for X time and feel it is better/worse than game y which i have been play for x time"  i think this way people will get a more objective rating of the game... if you find ffxi boring after a week, and find say, eve-online boring after 3 weeks, then i know that _I_ will find eve online boring perhaps after a year...

I got bored of UO about a month after Trammel (played for two years before that). I found AC boring after two months (my really biggest problem was I got dropped from the game every 10 to 15 min and I didn't want to keep paying each month because of that; otherwise I might have played longer). Earth & Beyond boring after two months. Neocron boring after 3 months of playing beta2. I found SWG (in beta) interesting during the tutorial and then got bored of it after spending 20 min in game. Planetside boring after three weeks. Project Entropia after 30 min. NWN after 6 months. Eve Online boring after 30 min of playing it. So, does that mean I will find FF:XI boring after 10 min?

    No.

It means you should stop playing MMORPGs
