Speaking of absurdity.. how about actually saying it is or it is not a starwars mmo instead of having forums about what people would like to see in a swg mmo...
The only people keeping this SWG and bioware rumor alive are the ones who refuse to confirm or deny the rumor itself. They are just as guilty as the ones spreading the rumor in the fist place.

I will admit it is annoying, the constant back and forth. Someone makes a thread about a SW MMO and the devs come in and say ahh man another SW thread? Then as soon as someone like me comes along and says, hey guys, its not a SW MMO lets move along they say stupid things like well it could be a SW MMO we are making just as much as it could based on Mon chi-chis. After that people start talking on their boards about SW games and MMOs again. If it wasnt for the ex SWG players and SW fans there would be no discussion or hype about their MMO on their forums at all. Hell, their forum regulars dont really even know what MMOs are since none have played em, they think NWN is an MMO.
They are playing with a double edged sword... The SWG fans who are holding out hope that Bioware will be their saving graces for SWG. The people at Bioware should keep in mind that the refugees wont take kindly to being screwed with, especially about somethign they are so passionate about...

I "get" that they won't discuss what they are making.
However, that said.. If they know they are not making a Star Wars MMO... then they can clearly come in and say in plain english.. We are not making an MMO based in the Star Wars Universe.
This stuff of crapping on somebody like omg... how stupid.. then turn around and say.. oh wait well maybe.. is almost as bad as the crap SOE Red names say.
If they are making a game on a new IP (they own) or one of their own... as an example.. I don't see why they can't say.. flat out.. its not star wars.
What's the point? that they will get a completely owned IP almost ready for beta... then get a call from LEC.. and scrap their own project for a Star Wars one... thus they won't deny it.
Sorry for the ramble.. it just seems to me in some ways they are as rude as the SOE guys.. on the forums anyway.
I agree.. and from a PR standpoint its good for them since we all talk about Bioware and what might happen... What Bioware fails to understand is the people who are talking them up are people who have been shit on by one company... Having a second company "use" them wont go over well either.. And eyah calling it absurd is icing on the cake being they are the ones who are perpetuating it with the yes no maybe might be crap..

I tried to tell them that in not so many words but they really don't get it and think it won't effect them very much since they are BioWare. lol SOE once thought the same thing they did.
