Personally I don't give a shit about the whole "never use sony again" bandwagon.
I generally don't buy sony, but I wasn't put off the trial. Sure I played it, it's crap apart from the pre-NGE stuff they re-introduced. The servers are empty unless you know all the secret places where all the pro-NGE'rs hang out with their "hundreds" of friends.
I agree with the OP, don't give money to these people. Take the trial just to see what a good decision it was to ditch the game, it'll make you feel better. Staying away from SWG because they fucked us all over is an understandable attitude but there's no point in being bitter and twisted about it. They're a multinational conglomerate, you honestly think they give a shit about your business? They won't lose any sleep over you, I suggest you all do the same.
Just know you probably are helping to inflate there numbers to save there jobs. Notice how the trial was for accounts past a certain age. I am just saying... By partaking in the trial you MAY (Notice I am not using Did or Caused or anything Definative) have saved the NGE for a little while longer or all together. You MAY have kept ChrisCao and Helios incharge.
If you are comfortable with that I hope you enjoyed the trial. If you actually stuck around after the trial I guess you did. Those who hated it or did 1-2 days, hell even did the full 15 and left may have actually supported the NGE.
We all got a free 21 days they asked us to come back and see how messed up it was.

It was horrid from the "clunk" sound and feel of everything, not to mention seeing all the old hotspots now filled with echos and tumbleweeds.
In a way it was good to log in for that free thing, it was closure on the game for me. Both friends list on my toons that people knew only had 2 on my main of 512 and 0 on my 252 on my Jedi.. Odd that now there was alot of Elder Jedi that I never heard of or that made Knight rank (We could see people with a command) whom had rank in the enclave.
No matter what , we all had some good memories and that is the best thing we have now. Screen shots and fun times... I still have to make my photo library of mine. I have so many that over wrote the numbers due to upgrades in machines or different ones I used in my house.
I logged in twice for my 21 day trial. Used my forum account more to just ask people W T F? ALOT play the forums more then the game that is for sure.
The one thing I have learned out of all of this is that some people are very forgiving, forgetful, accepting and pretty much will allow themselves to be walked on like a rug and still claim that they are fine and happy.
I am at a loss as to why people pay for a product like SWG right now, in it's current state. I think if it did not have the Star Wars name behind it this game would have been done at the NGE concept.
This MMO started out as a MMO that was complex, sure it may have been hard in some ways but still it was not a 12 year olds MMO, NOW? Now it is the poster child for simple games gone wrong. And they even said so not me.
SOE will learn from this one though, no doubt about it... and so will most gaming company's.
