I like a wide range of stuff. The random bands I list are just ones off of the top of my head right now.
I like: Metal (Sevendust/Slipknot) Rock (Breaking Benjamin/Chevelle/Seether) White guy rap/rock (Linkin Park/Rage) Ben Folds Jazz Classical (Clara Schumann/Claude Debussy) Techno (Oakenfold/MOS)
I guess it really depends on the season. During the summer I'm a big Reel Big Fish fan, and during the winter I'm more of a Ben Folds fan. The other stuff I listen to off and on, right now I'm on the metal/rock kick.
Smashing pumpkins Wolfmother Opeth Sparta System of a down Maroon 5 Jimmy Eat world In Flames Tool A perfect Circle Deftones Dark Tranquility Muse Nine inch Nails Red hot Chili peppers
EDIT: how could I forget Mudvayne and Damageplan
I hope some day we can all put aside our racisms and prejudices and just laugh at people

a wierd mix of music i know, but its good stuff. O... my... god...
you fit the typical "pop my collar and look gay while holding my man purse" description.
Stuff like Engine Down, Maritime, Moving Units, Hammock, Porcupine Tree, Anathema, Open Hand, Circle Jerks, The Germs, some Dead Kennedys.
On the flipside of that I also like Stanley Clarkes as well as some contemporary guys like Victor Wooten, i'm a big fan of the Grateful Dead and of course DSO and Phish. Also I like a few Quicksilver Messanger Service songs.
EDIT: Mod, in response to your post I think you'd really like Anathema.
3 Inches of Blood, AC/DC, Aerosmith, The Ataris, Avenged Sevenfold, The Beastie Boys, Beck, Black Sabath, Black Stone Cherry, Coheed and Cambria, Cradle of Filth, Damageplan, Dark Tranquillity, Deftones, Dragonforce, The Eagles, The Foo Fighters, Green Day, In Flames, Incubus, Jimmy Eat World, Killswitch Engage, Led Zeppelin, Linkin Park, Metallica, Maroon 5, Motion City Soundtrack, Modest Mouse, Muse, Mudvayne, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Ok Go, Opeth, Pantera, Pink Floyd, Queens of the Stone Age, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Slayer, Slightly Stoopid, Smashing Pumpkins, Status Hate, Strapping Young Lad, Sum 41, System of a Down, Tom Petty, Tool, Trapt, Trivium, Violent Femmes, The Raconteurs, Wolfmother, Weezer, Hatebreed
That was on my myspace... I haven't updated it in a while, so I probably have about 20 more artists on my WMP..
For me its mostly newschool punk (not to be confused with that pop-punk shit), a little bit of ska, and the rare splash of many other genres none of which are rap and/or polka

Either you hang out with the wrong girls, or you haven't been to any decent metal/punk concerts. Moshpists, aye!
I have a rather wide taste of music. Heavy Metal, Power Metal, Speed Metal, Melo Death, Death metal, folk metal, viking metal, a tiny bit of black metal, heavy rock, and then a lot of bands i can't put any real genres on.. Classical/Blues/Jazz..
MY favorite by far is Sigur Ros, I just ordered another one of their albums.
I've seen then in concert twice (which is hard to do since they're Icelandic and bearly make an appearance to the) Traveled all the way up to Michigan (from Florida) just to see them play.

I can't wait till the album "Tak'k" gets here
It's a solid release, you won't be dissapointed. I didn't like it as much as Agaetis Byrjun, though that was a masterpiece.
I also like some of the more mainstream people like Deftones, 3 Days Grace, Live and I'm still in love with Linkin Park. I also have a huge passion for dark tribal and it's probably what get's me moving the most. Guilty pleasure is Justin Timberlake, but mostly because I want to do dirty things to the boy .
Anything corny: 80s music, especially new wave but also stuff like Styx, Scorpions, Falco, Earth Wind & Fire, Toto, Baltimora, if they've got a corny vibe, I dig 'em 90s eurotrance and eurodance
On a more serious note: David Bowie, M.A.Numminen (Both excellent live acts), Led Zeppelin, Aphex Twin, Faith No More. As much diversity as possible, I can't stand listening to one type of music for extended periods of time.
The Sea and Cake/Archer Prewitt/Sam Prekop Death in June King Crimson Quasi most early Genesis albums (with peter gabriel) Red Red Meat Kraftwerk Roxy Music (early) Arto Lindsay and his bands/projects Jim O'Rourke and his bands/projects Jim Guthrie Pinback/Thingy/Heavy Vegetable/Rob Crow Alice in Chains Pearl Jam Nirvana! I like individual songs over "types of music and specific bands" The music groups and musicians where I like most everything they've done;
Ok , so no flaming! Im a girl, I just like stuff a little bit more mellow.
U2, INXS (before their original lead singer died) Prince, Sting/The Police, Beatles, Eagles, Sara Mclaughlin, Maroon 5, Garth Brooks, & Harry Connick Jr.
My husband has a file for all my music downloads labeled "Crap." I even enjoy soft rock stations sometimes.

I thought about including things that I hate such as Justin Timberlake, but then I realized that I had already clarified that I don't like meaningless music.
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.
