Neverwinter Nights2/SWG

Hey all..

I never played NWN1, but kinda know what it's about.  NWN2 seems really cool, especially the creation tools.  Does anyone know if anyone has tried to make a SWG type world with mods?  Is it even possible? I don't know whether to pick up this game or not.  Did anyone play NWN1?  How easy is it to add your own content?

I played NWN2 this evening...  Funny thing is that it really draws on MMO controls, etc.

    Bioware ALWAYS makes great games.

NWN2 is what DDO should have been.

Yes.  Infact there was a open game server that was a star wars game.  However lucas arts heard of it and sent a cease order.  The game server still went on but was no longer open and was by invite only.  I am not sure if they are still running it though.  I saw some screenshots of it and it looked pretty cool.  I have the lightsabre pack and it looked good complete with sound effects.

Well the only thing I've seen that was Star Wars in NWN was that they had made Lightsabers.

So I definitly think it can be done. Though very hard. Needs endless enviourmental work.

It's definitely a great game , And I agree DDO is put to shame by it .I love the online component of the game much more engaging than DDO.

NWN2 has a lot of issues that should've been taken care of in beta, bad camera, very very bad framerates in places even on PC's well above the req specs. I really wanted to like this game but it's just another dissapionting over hyped rpg.

There are definitely some issues , Yet I have noticed Bioware atari and obsidian , Have been fast to acknowledge those issues and were quick to throw out a pretty large patch .

If they patch it so it will run at an acceptable framerate, I'll be happy. I played for the first hour or so with no problems at all. Then I went into the swamp and the framerates started dropping, when I went into a dungeon that only had like 4 enemies in one room the fps went down to 2-3fps it was unplayable. Maybe it's a problem with ATI cards? I don't know, but go to the main saite and read all the threads about how crapy this game runs, even on monster rigs.

Yeah, my first night I was getting an error in rendering the Sky , and some serious framerate issues . Updating my driver helped with the bugged sky .Spent most of that night reading their forum in wait for the D2D patch for online play . Yet a smart individual offered a fix to the community before the devs did , LOL . The patch when I finally got it did address some of the framerate issues. But not all , I must say their Devs are working a lot harder and quicker than SOE would though ;).

Yep, between the time I picked up my pre-rder and got home there was like a 80MB update already out there.

i posted in the general forums as well ,anyway i was having major problems as well and i have a decent pc,d/l a program called enhancer (google it easy to find) and add all the .exe files for the game under the nwn2 profile and try that it helped a little bit however ,if your running xfire turn it off it absolutly kills the game.i can now run at full everything on perfectly, just disable xfire.
