So....whats everyone expecting for the 1 year NGE anniversary on the 15th? + poll

Given the server riots and the SWG boards going up in flames for the NGE, the sorry state of the game with the same poor customer treatment from SOE, is anyone expecting some type of Player Uprising with the 1 year anniversary of the NGE live date coming up or will the remaining customers just roll with it?

I am excpecting SOE/LA to do what they have done best to the player base: and it is similar to being in prison and having to bend over to pick up some soap in the shower....

I'm sorry this is a totaly inaccurate comparison, firstly you'll find other inmates in a real prison. Secondly the inmate isn't charged $15 a month for solitary confinment and no content.

How bout a rollback deed. For the 1 year anniversary theyll give out a rollback deed. note below

 

Rollback deed.

When u activate the rollback deed you will be given a rollback to PRE Combat upgrade version of your choice. You will have to log out for 5 years and let the game update to Pre-cu. In the meantime we suggest u go buy PS3 and play SWG on it until the rollback update is done.

There won't be any uprising. I think the people who would've "uprisen", have long since left the game. The players who remain are the NGE fanbois, or the perennial optimists who, even if they aren't happy now, keep holding onto the hope that things will get better.

I'm good friends with former guild mates who are still left in the game. One is torn about quitting and unhappy with SWG. All the rest seem to be totally divorced from reality, and either for some reason think the NGE is actually any good, or, despite the abysmal record SOE has to date, keep expecting each new publish to truly "fix" the game and make it "better."  Those are the only people from our old guild still left playing the game. The rest of us are long gone. And my guess is, that's probably true in general. So there is no one left to rise up.

I agree nothing, the last day I was in game on my station pass I was talking to a guy about how I missed my old Pre NGE build, he was a vet so I figured he would bring up stories of the same type.  Instead of saying yeah I hear you he started to flame me with BS about how the game was horrible pre NGE and it was CU that drove everyone away not NGE. 

    I don't really care if others agree with me or not so I basically said we can have differing opinions and its cool, but he wouldn't let up he started telling me I hadn't been through the awful pre CU days, I told him I had subbed on day 3 it was live and he tore into me how now the game was finally being done the way it should be and how before it had nothing to do with SWG at all.  

    He then proceeds to tell me how very soon the game would be huge since SOE had finally done SWG right, I paused almost  laughing thinking where would these people come from but I instead simply said I can't see how something that drove away well over half of the players was going to become big out of nowhere.  He said your just one of those disgruntled vets go play on a private server and leave all the fans to play the game they love.  I responded yup you're right I will be on one of those servers and have fun with all those new players that would be coming anytime now, ignorance is truly bliss.

    Now, by now there were 2 others around(all time high lol) and one agrees with me and says something along the lines of yeah I miss those days, then the other. a lvl 10 jedi buts in and starts ranting how I don't know what I'm talking about and the game was to hard before and why should he have to work for a jedi.  I walked away blown away, first at the fact that a vet could be so dillisional and second that the new crowd is so immature and ignorant to what a good game really is, I mean you're lvl 10 and clearly have no prior experience with the game yet you can tell me how bad it was before and how great it is now.

I happily logged out knowing I made the right choice, if thats the crowd that is left to play with better I not play at all.  SWG was about the virtual world and the social element, working together to build something that we thought would last.  Now all thats left is a empty theme park with a handful of fanbois and people that don't know any better.

Rest in Peace SWG you will be missed......

LOL I think those people are filtering themselves out of the game through the ole 'cancel' button, SOE just gives them the reasons to hit it.

alright, through some miracle, the NGE has made it this far, riding on the crow that "hates reading" + the hopes of the most optimistic SWG:C vets, the amount of $ coming in now must be obscenly insignificant, (no, i do not have any charted #'s, but after playing this game during its release, and a trial recently, the population is not present) one might ask how much can an MMO survive on?

how much money are these people putting into SWG to keep it alive?

furthermore, how much are other companies putting into theirs? is it really a significantly larger amount?

a butterfinger bar costs ~25cents to manufacture, package ship etc, and it's sold for a little over a dollar, could SoE/LeC still be making 4-5fold profits?

i realize a candy bar is not an MMO, but it's an interesting thought , though i suppose 4-5 (or even 99999) multiplied by 0 is still 0.
