Game needs to be re-evaluated

Rateing of WWIIONLINE is still the old rateing, bearing absolutly no resemblence to the previous game due to graphics advances, gameplay advancement.

Wonder if the people who rated the game before, will be revisiting.

Probably not, unless something awesome happens (like another couple thousand subscribers).

Only realistic way i could see the game being re-rated would be to have Matrix re-release the game as "World War 2 Online 2".  one helluva marketing nightmare right there.image

Well, I don't know about your side but Axis sounds became extremely weird after, i think, 1.11. I'm sure the Opel wasn't developed by NASA so why does it sound like a space shuttle taking off? Or the tank sounds*g*... Well I'm not having any real problems(code-wise), I just don't like the new sounds...

But, yeah, the rest of the game is getting improved every day. It may not have the best graphics around or some really handy features(like entering and exiting vehicles...) but it's the only game out there that you get to see tactical and strategic gameplay along with the usual FPS fighting.

I am not sure about that. As fast as that thing goes there must be a rocket hooked up to it.

Yeah the sounds did act up - The Beddy also sounded strange (is fixed now)
The sound part of WWIIol is really taking a step forward with synchronized footsteps, as well as the sounds being different if walking on grass or concrete and so on.

Stand by men, great things are commin, next patch is said to be launched in the beginning of April with visible damage for vehicles also.

MMORPG.COM is probably the site with the best updating on WWIIol, PCZONE for instance havent reviewed since the old old 1.4, and thats like than 2 years ago!

    1) join a squad that is part of HC

    2) download team speak and hear what is going on

    3) learn the game.. tune channel 10 on the allied side for help and to find action or a squad

If you do the 3 things stated I can say you will find a new meaning to WWIIonline

A gamebreaking ballance issue has just rescently reared up its ugly head.  Its a bad one too, guess what gamebreaking ballancing issue im talking about.

Other then that great game.  However if its not fixed, it wont be a great game.  It will be bad.  If fixed=good.  If not fixed=bad.

This is the most incredibly user-friendly forum I've ever seen.  Wow.

Would be cool if CRS's forums were like this, hey and you can put in POLLS too!  Think of the FUN!

  • DralloDrallo Member Posts: 4

I can only assume your talking about the stuarts alleged armour innacurracies.

as well your poll is a little difficult to understand, do you mean the problem is good/bad or it would be good/bad if bug was fixxed?

na genius, im talking about the nerfed 109.  Been over a month and still not fixed since the  joy joy patch visual damage model to the planes.

  • Nerf09Nerf09 Member CommonPosts: 2,953

Raise your hand if you think any aircraft in world war two, today, or in the near future are capable of absorbing over TWO HUNDRED 20mm cannon fire and 500 other assorted types of rifle calibur bullet holes.  Anyone?

    I didnt think so.

  • SzyporynSzyporyn Member Posts: 122
Nerf09 the discussion you are raising are better suited for the PS Forum over at CRS HQ plz!

  • Nerf09Nerf09 Member CommonPosts: 2,953

Well heres the thing Szeeezzborryeeyaaaaaaan, I did disguss it and got banned from the 'playschool'forums for a month.

Kill/death ratio of german fighters/AAA guns vs allied fighter/bombers have been decreased by 50% since the wonderful joy joy patch a few months ago dealing with visual damage models.

Since aircraft are so numerous in the game, and make up about half of the tactical outcomes of most battles, I figured it was a valid thing to disguss.  One entire side of the game NERFED by 25% in one stroke of a patch.  Indeed the PATCH is mightier then the sword.

    Game ballance?
    Victory tax?

    Incompetant programmers?

Who knows.  Since im banned from their forums, I'll never know.  Well looky here another forum I can talk in.

Hiya there MMORG forums and fans.

    Disregard the trolls image

the game is what you make of it.  Some equipments better than others.  CRS is constantly changing it up to make it historically accurate.  But, what it boils down to is #'s and whose got them organized!!   I stated in another thread.  What sets this game apart from the rest is teamwork, strategy and tactics.  You will not find another game out there that brings guys together like this.   What other game can you have a commander in the air, a commander on the sea, a commander for the inf and a tank commander, all working together to strategically attack towns.  The battles and the graphics during these will push your computer to the limit!!   Bombs landing everywhere, Destroyers shelling the town, Tanks making landfall on the beach with inf pilling off the boats.   Fighters chasing enemy bombers above you while tanks are hiding under trees trying to ambush enemy tanks without getting bombed.  Infintry meanwhile are flanking town, trying to work their way in there without getting mowed down by a tank or sniped by a sniper up in a tree somewhere.  I could go on and on.....Just check it out for yourself....

  • Nerf09Nerf09 Member CommonPosts: 2,953

Yeah thats right, im a troll.

You can put THIRTY 500 Kilogram bombs on the center of a Destroyer (only naval ship in the game other then tiny river-boats, and cargo ships), but unless you hit the sweet spot, like on the commander's zit on his left cheek then the destroyer wont get damaged at all.  Theyre destroyers, not Iowa class battleships.  And even a couple 500 KG hits to the center of an IOWA class battleship will usually take them down too.

And while the rats are busy working on groovey looking new visual effects, spiffy waving flags, and narley rifle grenades against concentrations of troops which never happen in this game.  The biggest issues which actually effect good gameplay go on being ignored after like 3 years.  Like:

    -Funny bunny damage models   image

-Total lack of any sort of mobile spawning.  Zero tactical control over the battlefield for your commanders.  One big quake fest.    image

Yes, indeed, you are a troll.

I'll go further, without any compunction and call you an out and out lier too.

It has been proved beyond doubt that planes cannot take 200+ 20mm rounds, ever. No plane in the game can take anywhere near that amount of punishment. You are a total lier.

The damage model of the planes has been built so that each wing, at a maximum, would fall completely off if hit with 4-5 HE rounds. The maximum amount of HE rounds any plane in game can take without simply breaking apart is around 16-20. Even then, you would have to be the best marksman, and the unluckiest (if your trying to kill it), to hit the plane that many times without killing it.

As for 30 500KG bombs on a DD, well, that's just another blatent lie. I know of people that wipe DDs out with one bomb. Failing that, the DD does take damage. You can knock out all the critical components like you can with everything else. The guns die, the engine dies, the torpedoes die, the aaa dies...and they sink. They sink quite often, in fact.

Now then, your next lie. The issues that are being ignored.

The damage model is, right now, as we speak, undergoing an audit. There is a 'Damage Model audit discussion' in the production notes discussion forum, where decent members of the community (read:-anybody that hasn't got himself banned fromthe forums...(how DID u get banned from the forums dude???)) can discuss their expectations etc.

Mobile spawning. Big issue? Funny, I hardly ever see that issue raised. Seems like it's only a big issue to you. Just to put the record straight. CRS are not afraid of mobile spawning. If the community feels strongly enough about it, mobile spawning will happen. I know that from things "the Rat's" (CRS) have specifically said and through my total experience of the game and the developers over 2 years of playing WWIIOL.

Lack of C&C of battlefield commanders. Again, an issue that hardly ever gets raised in itself, so it's only a big issue to you.

It is an issue though, but, it's an issue that I know is being addressed. We are getting a new user interface. This interface will facilitate better interaction between the game world and the players. Commanders will get the tools they need to efficiently command. New vehicles will be added (or existing ones given extra abilities?) specifically for recon roles. Recon units will be able to pass on enemy locations to the in game map for all freindly forces to see. etc etc. The map will be updated as well as the mission system to allow for waypoints, grid/time references etc. All the tools you need to do the job.

What's more, because all this development is taking place now, in real time, as we speak, YOU the player get to have your say. If you want a cool new feature added to the map, or wherever, speak up. If it's a good idea, and worth the development time, you have a very good chance of seeing your idea implemented into the game.

    That's how it works.

You will find threads on the WWIIOL forums asking for input from the players on the future of the game. You will also see some of these ideas being added to the game as time goes on.

I find it quite refreshing, after two years of living with this game, that the kind of trolling that one sees nowadays are a shadow of the trolls former activities that the game used to be plaqued by. Mr '09 up there seems to be incapable of finding an issues to moan about that is really an issue. Not so long ago, he could have chosen from a plethora of issues, and he would have been right, i guess, on a lot of them.

Now, he's reduced to picking on minor flaws that are known about and are being addressed. He's reduced to out and out lies to try to make his point. He's reduced to the level of the pathetic.

If I knew him personally, I would say it's quite sad.

    But, seenig as I don't, I think it's just funneh :)

See you on the Battlefield <S>

ok its obvious that u sometimes need a vent, cant u do that with your squad buddies???

anyways i'll tell u what VDM for ships and tanks will do:

Ship: possibility of turret blowing off or ship breaking in 2 parts

    Tanks: turret derailing, visual detrack..

    Still no fix.

Why does everyone expect a fix to their particular problem asap? There are very few rats and quite a few problems (as with any game of this magnatude), thus fixing them takes time. Paitence is useful not only in game but in waiting for patches.

BTW, we should have a patch this week or next that fixes a problem with turret armor among other things.
