Holy sh**, I agree with Gorukha on something? How can this be.....

Well ... I can see CCP wanting to team with someone to do the collateral stuff. It's something they've been trying to work for a year or two and they frankly have FA expertise in house about doing it, whereas WW has a lot of expertise in that area.
As to what it means for EVE beyond the collaterals ... could this be the beginning of the end? I mean, could this be the beginning of the siphoning of the dev team for a new WoD MMO. CCP had always said it was only focused on EVE (which when it was said in the past was true). Can't say that now.
What's also odd is that WW is a heavy RP outfit, the way they approach RP is via storytelling and so forth. CCP is all about hardcore PvP over storytelling and roleplaying, so it's a bit of an odd coupling.
My boyfriend told me this and I didn't believe him for a second because I had just written a big rant about this on the forums not long ago. Then I read the press release and my heart dropped. If anyone, ANYONE, can make a WoD online game that stays true to the conent it's CCP, with their attention to detail and networking capabilities, I think it's an amazing match.

I wonder how EVE fans feel about it though ....
I really don't see why they would take to much issue with it. If anything they'll get more Eve content in the long run, WW is one of the best LSRP, TT producers around and make amazing collectables, what fan wouldn't be happy to have that attached to their game?
Well look at it like this... it's two companies that are hurting financially trying to stay afloat. Also, this isn't any merge LOL. Notice that they say that White Wolf is going to be a subsidiary of CCP. This release was written to try to take advantage of ignorance of the general population, as a proverbial sales push. You'll notice that they said Tinney is still President. Being as it's a subsidiary now, that means he's taking orders from CCP higher ups as the former CEO from White Wolf is no more. This is all really just a shame to see really.

If I were still playing EVE I would be worried about the already small CCP dev team being pulled to develop a WoD MMO at the expense of EVE.

As will White Wolf players be worried that an Eve Book will be released before the next Vampire: Req book, which was scheduled for March 07. The coin flips both ways and both bases are going need to excersize a little faith that neither compnay will just leave them out in the cold.
As a long time V:TM player, sure I'm a little worried that this is going to change the way WoD is treated but it could also be a very good thing and a step closer to finally seeing a WoD online, which many fans have been itching over forever now.

CCP hurting financially? I would say this show that they actually have more money than they can find things to spend it on so they buy another company (that's what most companies with too much cash do).

Small dev team? Last time I heard they where over a hundred people over there now and increasing every day. They moved to new locations 2 times since the EVE was released because the old ones where not large enough for all the staff anymore.

They staffed up for the China server. What they said at Fanfest 05 was that the anticipated revenues from the China server would allow them to hire more devs to work on content for EVE overall (ie, for both London and China). This development changes that.
I mean, it could be a good thing, but to be honest when I have sat face to face with EVE's event managers and in-house roleplaying team and they have told me that the reason why they haven't been able to do as much as they have liked is because dev resources are always being pulled for something (whether Kali or China or whatever ... now probably WoD), it's certainly something I would be concerned about with this news. As it is, I'm a spectator now, but I do know people who still play EVE and this is slightly concerning.

Great. Now all the EvE fanbois are going to have to start wearing eyeliner.
