I have been looking around for this and it is scarce......what that means, I don't know.

Let me tell you somthing.... first off, my company is the ones (yes I know this sucks) that sells the machines that take the orders that make the boxes... for the product.

FYI -- NOT A CHANCE they sold out --- not a fucking chance in Hell.

    LOL....

I hope you do not buy that one O --- I mean really.... that one is thin...

Does that mean that you would have info on how many boxes they ordered ?

It means I like my job ... that is not the concearn, it's public that it was "made" where and how many is somthing I do not even want to know myself.

I can tell you that the plant that runs the orders does not do anything less then 50k orders.

However, there is no doubt in my mind this will fail as a product no different then the NGE did.

It has gone to game stores all around the world, some of which have never seen SWG on the shelves before (although that doesn't mean they haven't heard of it, we live in a wired world afterall...).  Over 50k would be expected I guess :)

The only way that the boxed set is going to sell out is if they only printed a couple hundred of them.  If they made the mistake of printing much more than that, their destiny lies in the landfill where all the Atari 2600 ET carts were buried.

Just so you know SOE has around 9k subs to SWG (this excludes the station pass) so just who are they going to sell the box set to?

Tin Foil hats dont work.. its all a conspiracy

No matter what the numbers are, the box set is more marketed to people that don't play the game.

How many people who haven't or don't play the game that is interested in MMO's, and a Star Wars MMO in particular are unaware of the screwjob that SWG players have received?

Not enough to sell a boxed set by the thousands, that's for sure.

I agree with your statement that it is MARKETED TO PEOPLE THAT DO NOT PLAY THE GAME.

Because if they had a clue they would not get close to it.

Change the name more maybe and they have a better chance.

One huge floor in your statement. SWG has been "live" (if you can call it that) for 3 years everyone knows about the game and its jaded history.

If the game is being marketed at a whole new player base where is the huge amount of advertisements or hype in the new package?

It's being Launched into countries that have never seen SWG on the shelves.  The EBgames I visit has posters in the store (heh, where the Burning Crusade posters used to be, persumebly gone since that's been delayed)

Its still listed over at Gamestop.  Based on how slowly those SWG starter kits moved though I doubt any brick and mortar place would want to carry it.  The Best Buy I go to still has one mangled and dusty starter kit that I giggle at whenever I check out games.
