What greater tribute to free will than the power to question the highest of authority? What greater display of loyalty than blind faith? What greater gift than free will? What greater love than loyalty?
Strong point. I don't have to play it.
Strong point. With people playing it. Other games will be less crowded.
Strong point. With the heavy grind, I don't have to worry about seeing Vanguard fans in other games.

I support Vanguard 100%, and hope it at least does decently so three of the four things I pointed out. Will happen for sure.

In Peace - Vigilance.
In Death - Sacrifice.
What a childish post, well done. This thread is about what you think the strongpoints are, if you're going to be stupid about it then sod off to the Darkfall forum you came from.
I voted for ships, the last time I sailed in an MMOG was in UO, and that was hardly realistic.

I vote for that one.

Why are you assuming I follow Darkfall? Just because you don't agree with my strong points. It does not make them childish. Getting "upset" because someones opinion differs from your own is however "childish". Notice no where in my post did I say "it sucks", "it's going to suck", "I hope it fails", or even "it will flop". I'm hoping Vanguard is successful, for all the hardcore grinders out there.

I never said you were bashing it, as that would fit into the "it's going to suck", like you say. I'm saying your pathetic excuse of a post was childish because all you could do was find some sarcastic reasons why people shouldn't play it.
Don't like it, don't play it. Not a reason to spam and achieve your +1 quota.

Well for one thing if I'll be playing VSoH I'm happy that I will not have to deal with people like you (read: newbs with mentality of 14 year old). I thank you for that.

Not you. You'r ok. Tho your left eye freaks me out.
cant wait tbh
the return of the sandbox mmorpg at last
and as for grind ill love the grind because theres so many extra avenuse to go into to break it all up
*weeps for the closest thing to pre-nge swg coming out anytime soon minus the jawas and blasters ofc :P
Sphere system, meaning that each person has combat, crafting and diplomacy levels.
Most games are only about killing mobs so I hope those other 2 spheres (diplomacy and carfting) will be as big as fighting.

Anyway voted for thee last part, I think this game is going to be fantastic!
(the eye freaks me out too! )
Sandbox MMOs would be games like Ultima Online, Asheron's Call, and SWG when it first started. These games have no clear end-game, and are whatever you make of them. Time put into the game doesn't matter, because knowledge of the in-game world and mechanics of the game will make you a better player in the game than another who might have played just as long as you. These games are typically player-driven, due to the need for crafting as opposed to loot from raids.

i should have stated myself better tbh
as later on in my post its the closest thing to a sandbox mmorpg(hence my closest thing to swg bit)
as in it has more to do in regards to player housing(not instanced),boats, more classes than just kill em high ones etc etc!
nothing else is coming out with this kind of stuff from what i can see..so closest to sandbox..my bad!
and thanks for the game list,i have played them all and its nice to be refreshed on exactly a true sandbox mmorpg is
and as for raiding im cool with it being a big eq,eq2(not wow now thats a true raidiers game)fan i see no issues with it tbh allthoug due to r/l ive never been able to play long gaming sessions in eq2 and i got to lvl 70 on a casual stance and managed to get all high end loot so its not totally true you have to be a hardcore 24/7 raider to accomplish the end game,in all these types of games.WoW and eq yes but eq2 not really tbh.
the majority listed in this poll has not been developed yet. I cant really vote on something that so far doesnt exist as being a "strong point". othet things are not yet fully developed and (for instance) crafting I cannot say is a strong point because its still being tweaked and what they seem to have announced previously does not currently seem to be a very interesting strong point.
ships are really the only thing that currently sets it apart from other mmo's (and this isnt based on second hand knowledge if you get my drift)

Here's my basis for crafting as a strongpoint: http://vanguard.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=ContentExpress&func=display&ceid=440. You are, I assume, a beta tester. Just because something is not ready to be put into beta does not mean that it's not developed, and I trust Butler's words to yours.
PvP, and if theres a way for the casuals to join into that PvP all the better. granted I also have no intentions on playing.
edit:
from what the devs have bragged about I'm also assuming that theres non-combat PvP too.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

Ahh I see. So if I'm not praising the game. I shouldn't say anything about it? Though so far I've said nothing bad about the game. I guess if i'm not falling over with praise for the game. I shouldn't have anything to say about it, or even form any opinion about the game. Good to know that you only value comments of praise.

IF, and this is a very, VERY big IF, I ever decide to play Vanguard it would probably be the player housing.
I always loved the SWG housing concept and I think Vanguard has gone close to the but done it a little better. Would be interesting to see for sure.
