Pro-Republican Idea from Zieen (Who's Zieen?)

zieenzieen Member, Newbie CommonPosts: 414

Some of you may recognize me, as a former poster. Either way, I don't post here anymore because I spent too much time flaming, or at least trying to do so.

Anyways, I've quit playing MMORPGs (I might try DFO, assuming it is ever released.), so I quit posting here.

I'm looking for feedback and support for my latest POTENTIAL project.

I'll check back here the next few days to check for replies.

I've been a fan of Rudy Giuliani, since the late 90s. This is due, in part, to parental influence. But today, I remain a supporter.

After the mid-term elections, I added a link to a website, which petitions Giuliani to run for President in 2008.

If you don't watch the news, Giuliani has taken the first step toward running for election, in two years.

I'm not religious. I don't even consider myself right-wing or conservative, but I'd call myself a Republican before a Democrat any day.

I'm happy that the Democrats took control of Congress. Bush and Republicans have been vilified by the media and anti-war supporters. These next two years are a short period, in which the flaws of the Democratic party should become apparent. The fact that extreme left Congressmen are taking control of key positions, in the House, only encourages this probability.

We need a right-moderate leadership to keep the United States on course. I'm not happy that we went into Iraq [at least not the method by which we entered] (I am happy we went into Afghanistan), but I know that pulling out now would be a huge mistake. I hope that those taking control will have the same reasoning. Beyond the war in Iraq, I feel George Bush has done an outstanding job. I want a government that keeps his economic course.

I don't want bounds of change. Life is good, in the Midwest. I think Giuliani, with his superb leadership ability and economic history, is the course we, as Americans, need to take. My age group, 18-25, is notoriously liberal. I'm considering starting a pro-Giuliani website targeting young Americans, created by young Americans.

Besides reporting and promoting on the website, the site would release original video advertisements on sites such as YouTube and MySpace.

I'm looking for two things from my fellow forum members.

1) Good Idea or Bad? (Please state your political affiliation and your reasoning)

2) Would you be willing to help or do you know people who would be willing to help?

I start a lot of projects and progress tends to be slow. Things seldom make it past beta form. I'm still working on a new site for BF2SBX, as well as a Day of Defeat Source video. I need help to make a successful site that can reach a large audience. (I'd be happy with 10,000 interested viewers/readers. That'll be fairly easy with a good advert on YouTube.)

OMG, a spam post! It's all over the internet!!!

The modern MMORPG is simply not worthy, of the acronym RPG. The straight grind and lack of atmosphere leave me with no choice. From this day forth, World of Warcraft, Everquest 2, and all the games like them shall be referred to as PIGCRAP. People In Guilds Constantly Raiding And Power-leveling

Hey Zieen, long time no see. Well keep coming back now and then to update us on what you're up to :)

    1) Good Idea or Bad? (Please state your political affiliation and your reasoning)

Personally I wouldn't find much interest in it. I wouldn't say it's a bad idea, but I am not in full support of any form of government really. (A bit of an anarchist) Although it does sound like an ambitious project and I wish you luck if you decide to persue this idea. The rewards may be great if you get something like this going.

    PS. Nice sig.

I would say do it...it's this kind of thing that gets your ideas into motion and you can actually make something happen.

I would vote for Gulliani before I voted for McCain any day...and those two seem to be the current big name candidates.

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

    I mostly agree

    1) I am an extremely conservative republican. I agree in that I have been pro-Giuliani since '02 when I knew there would be an extreme problem in the coming presidential election 6 years away. Giuliani isn't the most conservative republican, he definetly has some liberal views, but he is a repubilcan -- and he knows what he's doing, that being taking into account New York.
If we put him up in 2008, and he carries New York, we can possibly win the impossible - another republican victory before double digit years.

    2) I'd help -- but I don't have time on my hands. If I can fit in free time here or there, I'd be glad to. (I suffer from insomnia as well, so that might be benficial)

Maybe it's cause I just woke up, but I really can't understand what you're asking in the origonal post, lol.  It's going to come down to Gulliani and McCain for the Republican run, and I'm pretty confident Gulliani will win the whole shibang.

What greater tribute to free will than the power to question the highest of authority? What greater display of loyalty than blind faith? What greater gift than free will? What greater love than loyalty?

Gulliani would have my vote in a heartbeat.

    Hello zieen,

Good to see more politically intelligent people around. Not just the usual bush-bashers or democrat-haters. Not to say I like Bush, quite the opposite.

I am a socialist, currently registered with the Green's however, and have no specific love for either of the big 2 (dem's or rep's). I agree with you 100% that it was good that the Democrats took back Congress. History has proven time and again that a mixed Congress/Executive branch have worked out better for the people. When one party controls both, half of the people get neglected and alienated. So kudos for them.

    Now to answer your questions:

    1. Yes it is a good idea. I believe the more choices we have for president the better off we will be when it comes time to actually decide who it will be. More choices = more competition = better payout to the people, corruption and lying aside.

    2. Unfortuantely, no. I am not a personal supporter of Rudy, and niether are anybody I know therefor I can't help promote him. I commend you on your undertaking, however.

Finally, I just have to get this out there, as I wish him the best of luck, I don't think he stands a chance at winning. Other than being the mayor of NYC, and CEO of a corporation, he really has no political background. Historically the only candidates that have ever really held any chance of winning the presidency in the last 80 years are those with Gubernatorial experience, Senatorial experience, or Vice Presidential experience. Rudy has none of these as far as my knowledge goes ( I am a political sci. major...not specific on Rudy so it may be possible I am wrong). I think the republican nominee may fall onto McCain this time around, but who knows? It can really swing in any direction this early in the game.

    Eternally mine,
    Keebs

Giuliani has a lot going a against, but widespread support as well. He's a Republican, so those liberals and minorities that are unwilling to cross party-lines may present a problem. He also has some very liberal views and a less than perfect Christian background, so the bible-belt and super-conservatives present a problem.

If research finds he has a chance to win the primary, I want to see him run. The biggest problem is McCain and Giuliani running against each other. They're mutual supporters and would eventually have to target each other. McCain has a better chance at the conservative vote.

In a Clinton v. Giuliani match-up, I think Giuliani would win. Polls over the past few years have consistently found Giuliani to be more popular than Clinton, at least in New York. Clinton isn't unpopular because she's a woman, but because a large number of voters find her cold.

The way elections go nowadays, voting is picking the lesser of two evils. I consider myself more a Republican than a Democrat, but I'm also pro-choice, pro-individual rights (I may not be 100% for gay marriage, but I certainly don't think the government should be able to tell you who you can and can't spend your life with and share financial burdens with.)

    Giuliani is MY perfect* candidate.

(*Perfect for what is available lol. No one is perfect.)

Sadly, about every politician has capitalized on national tragedy, in one way or another.

Im conservative but I acutally like Leiberman, McCain and Guiliani.   I dont know whom I am dedicated to yet.  I guess infornmation would be beneficial.  However my age is out of the target demo graphic (30).

What kind of help would you be looking for?
