DDO have PvP now

or have had it long, but I remember how i was supposed to be full PvE game when it was still in development. Just noticed ad here that say it has "full pvp" what ever that means.

Did they add pvp just now or it had it for long? Havent read news about that game much myself.

It's very recent -- came in the last major patch a few weeks ago.  It's confined to (1) a new zone for high level players and (2) tavern brawls.

It's problematic because the classes have not been created or balanced for PvP.  You can't take an existing PvE-balanced group of classes and then tack on a PvP system without having significant problems.

It's 'basic' arena pvp, think of it as an 'added bonus' from the intened game (hence the reverse of WoW), DDO is still a PVE dungeon crawler, but it's turning into a damn good one..

    Bring on the WARRRRGGHH!

I love how another PVE only game goes the way of PVP once their game starts to fail... Its like I have said for a few years now, "Thou cannot survive without PVP"...

Welcome to the WE WILL NOT HAVE PVP in our PVE GAME Failures group DDO...

You can join the ranks of other failures that "caved in" like COH and EQ2.  I have a feeling your going to be joined by LOTR (half ass wanna almost be PVP) and Vanguard very soon.

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith

    Nail. Coffin.
PvP = Antihesis of RP, the very opposite of D&D.

Of course, if they'd done it right to start with they wouldn't need to scrape the bottom of the barrel for players.

PvP and roleplaying can very easily go hand and hand thank you very much!

What greater tribute to free will than the power to question the highest of authority? What greater display of loyalty than blind faith? What greater gift than free will? What greater love than loyalty?

Only when it isn't thrown in there on the spur of the moment. Really the only game I'm looking forward to where I think I may be able to PvP and RP at the same time is 'Age of Conan'.

the D&D game system isn't really designed for PvP. It's more for coop plays. Some classes are so overpowered compared to others. Take for example: A wizard or sorcerer can simply cast Phantasmal Killer on someone with low will power like say a fighter and that's instant one hit kill. I think it's BS for Turbine to cave in to the pvp demands.

It worked in Neocron, but that was from the beginning. This is spur of the moment, as someone has said.

Dunno about this one. Im definently not playing. Sounds like an attempt to please as many people as possible.

At hockey games, our announcer will go "Now {Insert Visiting Team Name Here} is at full strength...

And just like D&D around the globe say about DDO... the fans at the game yell...

    "AND THEY STILL SUCK!"

Turbine had the grand daddy of them all in MMOGs and all they had to do was code 3.5 rules and viola, the best MMOG ever... but no, they had to do it there way and they have successfully ruined the famous fantasy francise in history.  It should have been a no-brainer for them.

The bad part is, with their balancing the game for PvP, their PvE game sucks horrible.  It was okay but just need another year or so worth of content development.   My prediction is, within six months of the release of LOTRO,  DDO will be sold off or shut down.

Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware

"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."

Consensual pvp is not "REAL PVP"
