    First of all, this isn't a real good place to poll amswers on sl. As you can see, not too many people post here for sl.

    SL is similar to the Sims in it's the same type game as far as it being about everyday life.   But Sims is more cartoony and sl is a much better game as it offers a lot more and it's more life-like then the Sims.

    I'm not defending sl even though I play it as I dislike the way they don't fix things when they mess up in proper time frames.

    I think they have a few similarities but as stated previously, the Sims is more like a cartoon than SL.  SL is by far a better game than the Sims, IMO.
