If it is the written law (in the USA) to have separation of church and state then whats up with the following: ??
A) why does it say "In God We Trust" on all our money?
why are kids made to recite the pledge of allegance (one nation under GOD) in public school everyday?
C) Why do Christians constantly attack laws like abortion and banned prayer in school when it is written law and Jesus said "obey the laws of the land"?
prayer in school is illegal yet we say UNDER GOD in the pledge and buy lunch with money that says IN GOD WE TRUST..... which GOD is allowed? I now ask this question... Prayers not allowed by Christians so I wonder if the Christian God is what is really banned and the GOD that seems to be allowed is the actual God they mean.
I want to know what other people think.

B- The Pledge of Allegance is not madatory in schools, you can opt out.
C- Because that is the way Republics work. Politicians get people stressed out about issues that mean nothing so that the masses are devided and vote for them.

I never had to recite the pledge of allegance in any of my schools. Not even now, in high school.
Well no, I'm in ROTC, and we do say the pledge of allegance. But I just mouth it and pretend I'm saying it. And than close my mouth when we get to that "god" word and than go back to just mouthing it.
But other than that...never. Oo
America was formed under christian ways when we came here. That's why. Sadly, even though they lie and say America is a land of "freedom" and "freedom of religion" it really isn't. Someone's elses religion is above the rest of ours, in this case, the church and christians. So they run the show.

I really wish religion would butt out of everyday life : it's fine for them to have their beliefs but don't push it in everyones face.
Everyone has a right to life but why doesn't everyone have a right to suicide if they wish to? I'm not talking about oh im a depressed emo but if your in sooo much pain lyou don't want to go on. If i was in a wheelchair and cudnt talk or move or anything i sure would want lethal injection.

Funny thing about the Pledge of Allegance and Christians is this. You are making a VOW to be a good citizen.
In the KJB what does it say about vows (now I know this bible added "without cause" to a couple Beattitudes, but the people who worry about GAWD in the pledge usually use the KJB):

I don't even know if there's a God, but killing an unborn baby is wrong on a lot more levels then just God's law. If a girl doesn't want to burn rubber or use BC, she should be prepared to get pregnant.

I'm not one to get deeply offended over stuff like this, I had a tough life for most of my school days, I'm used to mockery(not religious mockery, I wasn't deeply religious until recently)...but I do get annoyed at the ignorance of some of the posts on this board, and from the psuedo intellectuals who pass themselves off as something that they aren't, but I don't take any of it to heart. I know what I believe, and if my beliefs are so weak that the postings of a 15 year old can topple my self esteem, then I have bigger problems. I don't seek to shut you up, I seek to shed light on the things that you seem to be ignorant about. That isn't a jab at you, I don't use the word ignorant as an insult, there is a marked difference between ignorance and stupidity. You don't seem to be stupid, you just seem to be ignorant about some things, chiefly among them being religion.
I understand a need to vent, I happened to have a truly miserable day(and not such a great week) The girl that I was going to ask on a date for the first time wasn't able to make it to either event that I was going to ask her at...the Colts lost(I won't even touch that one), the Raiders lost, the Patriots won, I had to sit through four hours of liberal diatribes from my retarded government teacher who told my best friend that he "doesn't care about the troops"...twice. Then I happened across some pictures of someone that I used to consider a dear friend that REALLY made me mad..and then, well...I had to be with my sister and her fience all weekend long. She is a very difficult person to be with and really tries my patience, even though she doesn't really mean to(she's 21, I should hope that she is beyond that phase!) And her fience is just...I dunno, but when he's around my dad gets really annoying for some reason.
To be honest, I get more annoyed at the posts of Lilithishtar, Kootur, and Reavo than anyone else...for various reasons, all of them different, but nothing I can't handle with a bit of my Jesus freak logic. I should probably take Kootur off of that list, he isn't really a poster, he's more of a political troll who does nothing but provide flame bait...at least Lilith and Reavo don't pretend that everything that they say is fact. When I started posting a lot on these boards, I thought that it was going to be Modjoe that I disagreed with the most often. That was because of one debate about Catholicism...and since then, I have found that we actually agree on a lot of things...my point is...it's not impossible to find common ground, but it's definitely harder to find that ground when you are busy venting your anger just because someone disagrees with you and you had a shitty day.
So in my long winded way, apology accepted, I apologize for writing such a long response to such a short post, but I'm about to try and go to bed at 11 o clock and I needed to write to tire myself out...I have horrible sleeping habbits due to my roommate in my freshman year of college.
